Abajaz Motor Inn

This place is very run down, no one in reception when we arrived at 4, no one when we left at 7.30 am. Unsuitable for 4 WD with roof racks, can’t park undercover. One of the down pipes was busted, so rain leaked onto the car park so you stepped in a large puddle of water trying to get things out of the car. We had 2 rooms booked through booking.com by our traveling companion. Overpriced, paid $244 each, it’s worth about $115 at the most. One of the rooms the Airconditioning was archaic, extremely noisy all night. One room had no glasses, the other only one cup. The plumbing needs attention, hot water came and went. The Airconditioning controllers were not working, one thin blanket, no spares. The only positive was a good number of tea bags, some biscuits and a toaster. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Family of 5 seniors booked the 6 bed family room.1 bathroom. 1 toilet. Only 2 cups were provided for cuppa. All round disappointing. No outside lighting. When you arrive home 10pm from outback experience, outside light would have been handy. Clean&tidy inside yes. Outside furniture & parking needs work please. Very expensive.

The location was okay, but i would not recommend this place to anyone. The room was so rundown that i thought we were in a 2 star hotel. Yes, they had a king bed, but the rundown room was absolutely disgraceful, and they had the nerve to charge $592 for two nights. At that price, we should have got breakfast included, and to top it off, they debited my card the day i booked it 2 months ago.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Spend your money to stay somewhere else clean or sleep in your car.Yes check in is easy and all done over text with a key code which is efficient though very impersonal.We’ve stayed in many motels in our lives and this is the worst. External areas grubby. And inside the room was a disgrace. I appreciate we are in tropical outback but no where else have we stayed during our 2 months travelling the length of Australia with so many insects and more! Within 5 minutes of arriving we’d swatted about 10 mozzies. There was a dragon fly and huge spider in the bathroom which I’m pretty sure I saw crawling from a gap in the waste pipe. Multiple crickets, cicadas, beetles, cockroaches etc (don’t look under the beds - no attempt to clean in the nooks and crannies). And the highlight was a little frog hopping round the room and under the bed.And the smell… a very musty disgusting smell most likely from cigarettes.Considering the price we paid for this room we expected much more. This was a serious let down.

This motel were more than welcoming when I had my dog on a recent trip. The room was the nicest I’ve stayed in whilst on this trip. The floor is tiles but what beautiful tiles they looked brand new. They had thought of everything with the accommodation and paid so much attention to detail. The room had a front and back door. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone travelling and we most certainly will be back.

Make sure you read all of the recent reviews before booking accommodation here - don't believe the 4.2 average rating! Clearly the new owners don't care much and are happy to charge an outrageous amount for a night's accommodation - well above what it is worth. For a 5-star nightly rate, expect a 1-star experience. Very basic accommodation in aged facilities that are not well maintained. As others have reported, there are no onsite staff, and the hotel is run from a distance with a text message sent to give you the PIN for the door lock to your room. You can't cancel your booking within 7 days otherwise we would have stayed somewhere else.

This was the only option available in Longreach, so we forked out the outrageous rate of $279 for one night in what we expected to be an average regional motor in. Turns out our expectations were wrong... Way wrong. I have stayed in 100s of hotels and motels in my life and this, without a doubt, is the absolute worst I have ever stayed in. The room was not clean. It was dusty and riddled with cobwebs. When we arrived, a spider (one of a few) dropped from the roof onto a bed... welcome!! The shower was moldy. The floor wasn't vacuumed - bugs on carpet on arrival. They say beggars can't be choosers" and any room is better than none. In this case

The rooms are horrendously run down and shabby. Mould on the ceiling as there is no extraction fan in the bathroom and you cannot open the window.No sink in the room where the microwave and kettle are, so you’re forced to try and fill the kettle in the tiny bathroom sink. There are signs saying please do not leave dirty crockery/cutlery in the rooms but there is NO WHERE to wash it up.Really dirty carpets and the room certainly did not feel clean. Hasn’t been upgraded since the 80’s I’d say.No floor length curtains so anyone on their knees could see straight into the room. Constantly woken by car headlights shining into the room, and no one on site for check in (they send you a code for the door- seems like there is NOT often someone manning the desk).I do not recommend this motel. We booked in for 2 days but couldn’t book into the Stockman's hall of fame. They would not allow us to cancel the 2nd night probably because most people would do pretty much anything to not have to stay for more than one night.

**PLEASE READ REVIEWS CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING* The price charged is extortionate for the terrible room. There was no one at the motel for check-in or to resolve any issues. The rooms were not clean, cutlery provided was dirty despite coming in a nice packet, mold in rooms, yellow stains that on walls next to bed, and bed sheet had a dead bug, the pictures say it all. Clearly the owners don't care about maintenance so don't expect a pleasant stay. Have tried to get a reasonable adjustment but the owners are not being responsive.
