My boys and I started at Newcastle Aikido in 2020, shortly after moving over from Europe. The dojo has since become a central part of our lives, providing world-class training and community for the whole family. We really value that it's a traditional dojo that takes an authentic approach where we can all be challenged and pressure-tested in a safe and supportive space, surrounded by members of all ages, genders and walks of life. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Trained here for years as a teen. The quality of the community and wholesomeness is unrivaled. They deeply care about what they do. The owner still remembered me 10+ years after my last class and dropped past my gym when he was walking past to say hi. You won't have a bad experience here.

This is not only a place where your kids can learn a martial art. When you come here you're part of a community with kids who are amazing role models and adults who are amazing mentors. It's a place with the right balance between discipline and fun and, most of all, it will teach your kids how to practically train their mind and body - exactly what we need at these crazy times.

Loved this place ever since the first day i entered and stayed to watch a class. As a beginner i always felt welcome and through the years i never hesitated returning when life wasnt so busy.Enter this martial art dojo with a humble mind and you will never leave disappointed in yourself for doing so.

Fantastic Dojo, and a beautiful community. Newcastle Aikido proudly train hard and live peacefully. If you're looking to learn self defence in a safe environment, get fit, and build community, I highly recommend saying hello.

As woman who had no experience with martial arts I started my Aikido journey 12 months ago initially as a great activity to do with my 7 year old son, little did I know how much it would impact my life!Along with our Sensei the Newcastle Aikido community have been welcoming I have been supported and guided every step of the way.I feel empowered, more calm, stronger and fitter than ever all whilst learning and appreciating the beauty and strength of this art form.

This is a great place to learn a very unique martial art. My kids both train here, and I've become addicted myself. The people have a great bond, spirit, train hard, and work together in a very supportive environment. The mat is full of people from all age groups, shapes, fitness levels, professions and motivations. If you want to try something unique, or if you're interested in some good Aikido, then you need to at least take a look through the front door .... then head for a coffee at Suspension Coffee just down the road. Perfection!

A wonderful place to train, you get to challenge yourself in a supportive environment. And the kids classes are amazing also, fun but so good for their development and resilience.

I have trained at Newcastle Aikido for most of my adult life, and it has been a constant through all the changes that come from being in your 20's.The community and environment here is the most special thing that I have ever been a part of, whether it's encouragement in your routine, a social group to engage in or help moving house, you could not find a more welcoming and inclusive group of people, whether you have trained there for 10 days or 10 years. No matter your age, fitness level or previous experience, I would recommend you come along and give it a try, you won't regret it and at the very least you will meet some amazing people
