Without doubt, the best bakery chain on the Central Coast or Sydney.I can understand why the owners don't do websites/Facebook etc as they prefer to get on with making great cakes, bread, coffee and pies.H/O and bakery is Erina near Tyrepower, stores at; Avoca Beach, Gorokan, Green Point and St Ives.Worth the visit

I buy cakes quite regularly at The Bakehouse and have always been happy in the past with the quality and the service. REALLY annoyed today, though. I paid upwards of $24 for a caramel mud cake for a colleague's birthday and when we cut into it it was so dry inside I can't imagine how many days old it must have been. From now on I'll ask if a cake is fresh before I buy it there.

Bakehouse Avoca have THE BEST sausage rolls. Whenever we drive down to the coast, from Newcastle, we always stop off for one (or two hehe).

First time, they gave me a regular crossiant instead of almond croissant, when I returned they used failed slight of hand to give me an stale almond crossiant instead of one of the display ones, third was the same trick but with a danish. Make of that what you will, but that's I saw, also I'm not really aware of how obvious my autism is but they likely pick their targets2 stars because the danish is decent if you can get a fresh one

Purchased some cakes today at around 1pm and the lady that served me did the whole transaction without saying one single word to me didn't even look at me and that was pretty much how she treated the other customers as well.

Stale Cakes, OverpricedTo use the eftpos machine you are charged a fee, higher than the 1% charged by the banks. Cakes are up to a week old, bread is dry and tough. Pastries are always stale, nothing good to say about this place, so overpriced for the poor quality of products they serve, disgusting and dirty.

Went in today and bought a pie and a donut pie was average but the donut was a half stale one pulled out of a servo packet! U would think you would fry a proper donut for the ridiculous price you guys charge what a rip off and you call yourself a bakehouse...yeah right

I absolutely love their Artison Wholemeal Sourdough loaves... I’ve only quite recently moved up to Avoca Beach and I make sure that I ALWAYS have some of it on hand for me and for visiting friends. So delicious!

Awful pies, no meat at all just gravy. Over baked cookies as well, I'd avoid.
