Rathdowne Place Aged Care

My father lived the last 2 years of his life here, he was loved by the staff, he had special relationships with each of them who cared for him and he will be missed.. he passed away 11/6/17. He enjoyed a unique and querky level of independence with the support of staff and his electric devices and I will be forever grateful to Rathdowne Place for their great work. This is a hard thing, we cannot expect care of a loved one to be as good as what we could give them with our own unconditional love, so within the boundaries of what is possible, what is affordable and what people are willing to do, this experience has been exceptional. Thank You 1000 times over. xxxx

I have been working at Rathdowne Place close to 9 years in total.Since the start of this year, we have had a positive turn around with ManagementI have also seen many professional nurses and carers that have recently been recruited to Rathdowne Place.We don’t just have quantity, but also a high standard of clinical team members I work amongst now.We all work together in a positive environment, especially since our new General Manager Seshan and new team of Clinical Managers have come on board.I have spoken to many of my colleagues and we all agree, staff are inclined to stay within the company now because it is a pleasant and fun place to come into work.The residents I work with across many levels are happier as the staff are happy to be here. That is what counts, as we spend most of our time here at work than at home.I have also noticed that our new management team are always open to talk to and listen to any concerns or feedback.At one point last year I along with many other nurses were thinking of leaving, however, now there is all the more reason to stay as we love our work. Residents and staff are in great spirits!The activities and functions are also filled with so much laughter and enjoyment, both with staff and resident involvement.Thank you Australian Unity for appointing an outstanding clinical/care and management team for Rathdowne Place in 2023! : )

Rathdowne Place is brilliantly located in Carlton opposite the Carlton Baths and in walking distance to amazing restaurants and the Cinema Nova. There is also a fantastic cafe in the building where residents can meet their friends for a coffee or brunch.Recently there has been a change in management and the new manager Seshan Ramaswamy is a passionate, caring man who not only cares for the residents but has built a supportive space for his staff. Rathdowne Place is an outstanding and unique facility for the aged.

Thanks and Goodbye❤️I worked at Rathdowne Place close to 7 years as FSA, PCA and become Lifestyle Team member, and I stay for that long years of working in this facility because I felt valued, though there are changes of management but still I look at the positive side of all situation we are been through especially when pandemic times but since the start of this year, we have had a positive turn around with Management.And also have time to chat with my co-workers and some residents and residents family that they are happy of what is happening now in Rathdowne Place and they have excellent positive feedbacks with the new Management.The facility functions in a positive environment, especially since our new General Manager Seshan and new team of Clinical Managers have come on board.I personally sad leaving Rathdowne place to be with my family In New Zealand and take a challenge to work with one of the Residential Facility in NZ, and just forever grateful the management now through Seshan , Rathdowne Place is in good hands.Thanks for the opportunity to work under Australian Unity and in my second home Rathdowne Place.

Id like to give a special mention to the reception staff of Rathdowne Place Aged Care. My encounters with the staff members T, Muna, Kaneza and others have been nothing but positive. Their delightful attitude as first contact in the building is to be admired and gives Rathdowne Place Aged Care a great comforting feeling. Beyond reception I was very thankful for Seshan (I believe he is a manager there) for his direction and attention to detail, combined with a jovial demeanour he helped to make my experience with Rathdowne Place Aged Care a rewarding one.Couldn’t recommend enough!!

I worked at Rathdowne almost 6 years since Aug 2015 to april 2021. I worked on Level3 had always love working there. Had some issues with one of the co worker but until Abid and Rajdeep was there as CP barely had issues. They understood people can have different ways of working and can clash. They always knew how to keep things balanced and nice working environment.Whereas the day management started changing specially when Abid left they started doing partialism.At start of the job I was given contracted hours of 7-1 on weekends whereas I always showed interest of getting hours increased whenever someone left on timely manner. Abid shifted me to 7-3 but he did not give me contract where I even did not think of getting it changed. Whereas when he left the new CP MARC without my consent took my shift away from me and gave it other girl who was also on 7-1 contracted hours shift. He left soon and after tried with each and everyone to get back the hours- krishan, Steve Robert and list goes on. Nobody cared about giving genuine response. Even before leaving things got so worse I requested the floor change but then Pravin did not even consider my request and abused me on phone being a binger and rather than accepting my request of floor change he threatened me with either I leave the job or go casual. I resigned with heavy heart and felt useless as being a worker at one place from 6 years and nobody cares about you and easily want to get rid of u as you are speking for ur right and affect its causing on your mental health.Such a pathetic Management since GM Krishan joined he just do nothing just peek in cameras and chasing people on floor for every little mistake they make.

Excellent care home, the staff are very friendly and the management team are very responsive to queries and feedback.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Rathdowne Place aged care facility, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the residents were well-cared for and treated with dignity. The facility itself was immaculate, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The activities and programs offered were engaging and catered to the residents' interests and abilities. I was truly impressed by the level of care and attention to detail at Rathdowne Place. It's a top-notch facility that provides a nurturing and vibrant environment for its residents. Highly recommended!

I have worked for 2 other Aged Care providers, and without a doubt the management team and staff at Rathdowne Place have set the standard when it comes to the care of our elders. The staff treat the residents and each other with dignity and respect. I would not hesitate in recommending RP to anyone looking for a home for there loved ones or employment. Awesome work RP
