Ewen Bell Photography

Nepal is a dream venue for photography, the light is amazing and there is no shortage of subject matter. Coupled with the expert guidance of Ewen I find it difficult to believe that anyone could be less than impressed.

I have travelled with Ewen on photography tours to Bhutan and Nepal and I think the best compliment I can give them is that they do not feel like a photography tour at all, they are authentic travel experiences where you can immerse yourself in the places you are visiting rather that just experiencing it through a viewfinder, but yes, you will come away with great images. The way the tour are put together reflects Ewen's personality, friendly easy going, passionate about photography and respectful of the people, culture and locations we are the guests of. His years of experience in running these tours really shows and I look forward to being able to spend time traveling with Ewen again hopefully sometime soon!

A HOLIDAY TO REMEMBER.In November 2022 we joined Ewen Bell on a small group tour in Nepal to visit Mount Everest without having to physically climb it. The tour started in Kathmandu. From there we flew to Lukla by helicopter. After two nights, we flew to, and stayed at the Everest View Hotel altitude of 3,880m. One morning we flew and landed at the Everest Base Camp. The scenery was magical.The tour was professionaly managed (by Ewen).Our local guide Tsering was very attentive to our needs. Accommodation, food and flights met our expectations.This is our second trip to Nepal organised by Ewen Bell. We have no hesitation in recommending his services.

Ewen provided a great experience on our Grand Outback tour. Always knew where and when to position us for the best light, the most wildlife, or the coolest rock art. Made me realize how much I still have to learn about my skills and my gear in a very constructive way. Now I know what else to buy. He has the best local contacts! My wife and I will do another trip with Ewen.

I recently completed a course on preparing ebooks conducted by Ewen Bell over four weeks. Ewen's knowledge and experience in photography and ebooks is second to none. Ewen shared his knowledge very generously and supported everyone including responding to emails promptly. On one occasion, he provided us with a short video indicating shortcuts for the software we have been using. Throughout the course we used our own work and it left us with a very good foundation to be creative, even for a person like me with very little artistic talent. I now have a better understanding of things to be photographed - what is important is not only the technical quality of the photo but the story it tells.I have no hesitation in recommending this course.

I went to Nepal with Ewen Bell. He has intimate knowledge of the people and culture. Prior to my trip with Ewen I was primarily a Landscape Photographer. To shoot wide open with shallow deep of field was a new experience for me. Ewen was a great coach and provided positive feedback. Shortly after returning from Nepal I booked another trip with Ewen. I provide a review of that trip in another post. I struggled to pick just a few pictures. I attached eight to provide a glimpse of what type of pictures you can capture in Nepal.

I very much enjoyed my trip to Nepal with Ewen. I could never have found the photographic opportunities, nor the experiences of the country without Ewen and his team. We covered a lot of ground with excellent logistical organisation and stayed in very welcoming accommodation whilst eating well. The local knowledge of the team combined with Ewen’s love of all things Nepalese meant that we were guided to see and do things that many visitors would miss. Nothing was too much trouble and I am sure that we have all benefited long term from being exposed to Ewen’s photographic skills and philosophy.

I travelled with Ewen on a research trip to Nepal in November 2023. What an incredible experience: taking helicopters to hard-to-reach places, enjoying fantastic local places to eat and the joy of travelling slowly. Every day brings something different. It’s the fourth time I’ve travelled with Ewen (also mainland China, Myanmar and Sweden for the northern lights). His meticulous planning, excellent local knowledge, authentic local relationships, and awesome food radar make for great travelling. And it’s always fun. I’d recommend taking a look at any trip Ewen is offering – for photography or slow travel, or both. In fact, Norway in 2024 is looking goooodddd…

I recently travelled with Ewen to some truly amazing locations. The organization and attention to detail made the trip all that much more memorable. I will definitely travel with Ewen again.
