Aysons Reserve
I did like the camp site and the campaspe river running by it. I cant say this place was peaceful though. There is a busy main road running along the site where trucks drive down all through the night and the first thing you hear are the heap of cockatoos perched on the trees so not much sleep for a light sleeper! The river is amazing as you can swim, kayak and fish there.

Top spot next to the river spoilt by duf duf players and a symphony of generator's. Otherwise a great place. It was a long weekend that we were there so to be expected I suppose.

Great free camp. Large open area that can fit loads of caravans. Clean flushing toilets and a dump point. Excellent river views. Quite and no real traffic noise at night.

Worst public/camp toilets I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Good view of the Murray and near a road that's busy at times. Only allowed to stay 2 days without a permit. To probley 1 day to many.

Do not swim in the river, sit yes but don't swim or dunk your head. Hubby caught a very serious bacterial infection from the river. Apart from that, it's a nice camping area, only toilets with river water are available. It's a 10min drive from Elmore Vic. Total fire ban in Victoria atm as well. 21/02/2023

Good place for camping. Open view with river and a Turlet but the fishing is hard because of the weeds growing but can be done. Side note .. I found $10 in the Turlets :)

Top spot for camping thanks to the local council. It is greatly appreciated by many self contained campers. There are toilets and a dump point all very clean. Do your shopping in Rochester or Elmore before heading to the camp site. Also please take your rubbish back out with you. Every bit of support helps all campers.

Nice place to stop for a night or 2. The flushing toilets are a bonus but no locks on the doors.Watch out for the permanent residents who show no regard for others as they speed around the tracks and throw up dust.No real access to the river other than the boat ramp but some nice places to sit and throw in a line.

Great free camping spot, gets quiet busy, has toilets, boat ramp, right on the campaspe river. No bins so take your rubbish home with you, no showers but besides that great place to stay for a few days.
