Really smart of the council to close this tip and give local residents the opportunity of a 60 kilometer round trip to Blaxland tip where their fees are exorbitant. I'm sure they could make a new tip site further away as that would be really inconvenient for people living in Katoomba.

Why do we pay rates to have a facility that turns you away because you have more then a wheelie bin of rubbish and force you to drive to Blaxland and charge you so much you have to take out a home loan to pay for it. If they want to stop illegal dumping sort this facility first.

We pay more than fair rates and where are our services. I work 5 days a week and a 4 hour window to get stuff to the tip. Very sad Council and councillors. Where is our money going honestly. Terrible.

Best tip in Australia by a mile. Take in the scenic views while you get rid of your rubbish.Friendly and helpful staff who will assist you to dispose of your refuse in the most environmentally responsible manner possible. Just don't cut corners and try to tip your garbage without sorting it or you will incur the wrath of the hawk eyed small vehicle area attendants.Includes a reuse shed where you can find something you didn't even know you needed.

Local Council opens the dump from 10am till 3:45pm 6 days a week. Very inconvenient if you go there as part of your work. Doesn't open at all Sundays, when locals might actually have time to use it, but manages to opens the Tourist Centre at Echo Point from 9am till 4pm 7 days a week???Well its pretty obvious what this Council is focused on and it isn't providing services for locals.Head out any of the firetrails and you will see that many locals have found a way to work around these restricted hours and insane prices. Maybe when the rubbish dumping affects the tourists we will get some change.
