Glenorchy Golden Years Club

I wanted to become a volunteer after retiring. Having so many organisations to choose from, I am so glad I decided on the Glenorchy Golden Years Club. I was amazed at the friendliness of all the people involved with the club. Prior to starting volunteering at the club I was told about how good the meals were. I volunteered to work in the kitchen. I was truly amazed at the quality, variety and price of the main meal and excellent desserts that are served. I would highly recommend anyone to call in on a Monday or Tuesday at 12pm to experience such a cheap and thoroughly enjoyable meal in such a happy welcoming environment. I guarantee you will become a regular diner as so many very happy people have become.I was very surprised and in awe at all the activities that are conducted at the club during the week. Exercise classes, a Choir, Carpet Bowls, Bingo and various Card Games are just a few, and a thoroughly enjoyable bus trip outing once a month is had by all that come along, join in and participate.I would like to commend and thank Kath Jones (Club Manager) for having the faith and trust in me by allowing me to join in and be part of such a fantastic loyal group of people, in a very well organised run environment. Good value and entertainment Tuesday nights hosted by Southern Tasmania Country music.Singing and dancing for all ages.

Went to listen and dance to lovely music. With partner Trish. A young country and western singer is performing next tuesday .not to be missed a new star is born Stan Wilkinson APOLITICAL

while the idea of the place is great unfortunately the wrong people are in charge of the place. 2 of the rudest woman ive ever met. the food is also at best average.

Good venue

The Golden Years Club is a great venue. On every Thursday except the Thursday of the month, the Golden Wattle Inc. hold a cafe there for people living with denentia and their carers/family/friends. Great company, food, interesting iems for stimulating conversation and entertainments. All welcome. Come along.

Lots of activities for older people

Concert organized by Country Music Association of Tasmania. Artist was Anthony Tenace from Victoria. Great performer, very versatile in his music including Elvis impersonations.

I go there on Sundays because it is where our church is held.
