ibis budget Dandenong

Dreadful dreadful dreadful. I have stayed in all sorts of hostels and things when backpacking, but have never had such a mortifying experience. With an Ibis Budget, you expect a small bathroom and basic facilities. What you don't expect is FILTH. Snot dried on the shower floor, blood on the sheets, gum on the walls, dust bunnies inside the air conditioner, floors that have not seen a vacuum cleaner in a LONG time. Hallways reeked of smoke and other customers were playing loud music. Windows don't properly seal in the Melbourne winter, and previous customers had tried to block it up with toilet paper that was left there. The front desk guy was very kind and tried to help us, but we could see that no amount of room changes would help, considering the state of the hallway itself. My mother and I were there for one night for a funeral, and were so upset to be searching another hotel while emotionally and physically exhausted. We left because this is definitely not a place you can walk around barefoot without getting a fungus. Also seems to be being used as a homeless shelter.

honestly the staff was not friendly at all very badly polite but the price is very good but the bathroom was not clean

This is surely the worst hotel I've ever been to, the room we rented was dirty and had balloons in it, as if they'd just thrown a party inside so we asked for a new room. The new room looked ok at first but the bunk bed was not made and as I was doing it I found food crumbs underneath the mattress and the covers were dirty as well. The next day I asked if the could tidy up the bunk and they said they don't do it.I have stayed in an Ibis Budget before and was already expecting the small size and no elevators problem but somehow I was still deeply disappointed, not worth the money you save renting this place, save yourself the trouble.The staff was pleasant but otherwise a terrible experience.

We stayed 1 night ..found the room good . The room was not big but it was just for sleeping .The shower and basin needed a good Scrub !!Would like to see a hand towel in the room as there was not one ..Staff were friendly and helpful when i asked for more sheets and towels.Lots of parking on the property .TV was good air conditioner was good (bit noisy if u are a light sleeper )I would suggest to the hotel...Up grade Linen ,pillows and quilts.And supply hand towels .

You get what you pay for. Small room at a cheap price. Room and bed linen were very clean. No complaints for a small room at under 100 dollars.

When the first thing you see is rat traps in public areas like reception…When your greeting from the receptionist is “you’re lucky! If you were ten minutes later I would have cancelled your reservation!” At 7:50PM when your reservation clearly says you have until 10PM to check in…The room was absolutely filthy. There was an ant infestation. The floor looked like it hadn’t been swept or vacuumed for months. There was hair in the shower. The cups were dirty.On check out, when we mentioned these points, the assistant manager simply said “oh, sorry about that..:”I have stayed in Ibis hotels all over the world, and I am fully aware of what to expect from them. They are small and basic, and that is fine. But at least they are clean and well presented - apart from this one.A real let down for the Accor brand. A truly disgusting hotel. Avoid at all costs.

We were booked in over Grand Prix weekend, fully paid in advance, and at a good rate. Sent an online message saying we'd be checking in late, as our flight from Townsville was arriving late, only to be later told that they were cancelling our reservation because of the late arrival. Who does that - why would it matter what time we arrived for a fully paid room?Later checked and saw online that they still had rooms available, but had jumped up the rates to take advantage of race weekend. I guess we just weren't paying enough to deserve the rooms there.

...Staff were very nice...Being an elderly pensioner...they gave me a ground-floor room and helped me carry my bags to same. Room was very clean and I was able to open the window...(living in the country, I am used to sleeping with fresh air circulating) That was a bonus! Bed was comfy and tea and coffee provided. For a (short) budget stay....it was all I needed. Appreciated all that was done for me.

budget" is in the name so don't expect the world. Rooms were pretty cramped and there's no soundproofing for the hallway
