Loyal and Loved - Veterinary Hospice

It’s every pet owner’s worst nightmare. You know beyond a shadow of a doubt it’s the right time to put your pet to sleep, but wait....it’s a public holiday (Boxing Day to be precise.) All the local vets are closed and the emergency hospitals want you to bring your pet in as they won’t make house calls. All the mobile vet services are not picking up the phone, even those who advertise 24/7 availability. To top it off, your dog is large and suffering from advanced Wobblers disease. If you lift her, you might cause more pain. Besides, she has always HATED going to the vet.....her last wish would clearly be to die in her home.This was the tragedy I faced on Boxing Day - until I found Dr. Raf. After making contact with his office, he quickly personally texted me to let me know when he would be free to speak, called me at the said time and organised a time to come same day to put Ava to rest.Dr. Raf was extremely kind, spent some time getting to know Ava and our other dog, explained everything thoroughly, answered all our questions patiently and was just plain wonderful. We can’t thank him enough for making the task so peaceful. The entire family was there to see through Ava’s peaceful passing and our other dog got a sense of closure as she observed as well.

Knowing when to say goodbye to your beloved pet is probably the hardest decision for all pet owners. Tiger, our cat hated going to the vet, it was important for Tiger to spend his final moments with us at home, on his bed.I called numerous mobile vet services and all of them were eager to get the ‘job done’ ASAP at ridiculous prices. Finding Dr Raf was a blessing, he was very accommodating with the timing and came over on a Sunday afternoon to put Tiger to rest.It was an extremely sad day for both my husband and I, but Dr Raf was amazing. He explained every step involved thoroughly, was extremely kind and thoughtful. We are so grateful to him for allowing Tiger, to have a peaceful passing. Thank you!

Raf was the consummate professional. In a very difficult time he was kind and thoughtful. We greatly appreciated being able to farewell our beautiful girls at home, where she was comfortable and with the ones she loved.

We sadly had to say goodbye to our much loved dog of 8.5 years. Dr Raf came to our home and not only gave our best friend the most peaceful experience he also helped myself, wife and 2 kids through a very sad process. Although this is not an experience I would wish on anyone I can't advocate strong enough to have at home, peacefully with your pet, with Dr Raf leading the way. Especially if this is your first experience or you want your kids to take part. Forever grateful.

Rafael took careful steps to ensure our final moments with our beautiful old girl were as peaceful and loving as possible. He delicately explained each step of the euthanasia process so we would know what to expect, and ensured our dog was calm and comfortable and focussed on our love for her as she crossed the rainbow bridge. Rafael is compassionate and professional, and we are profoundly grateful to him for his service.

It took a lot of emotional courage to pick up the phone and call Dr Raf Dye. We had not ever spoken before but I know the only way to say goodbye to my cat after 21 years together was do to this peacefully in her own home surrounded by her environment and our love. Without hesitation, Dr Raf immediately made himself available for the time that we were ready to say goodbye. He was thoroughly attentive in talking us through the process, answering our questions and helping us feel at ease with our decision. If you have a choice to say goodbye to your furry soulmate please choose to do it at home. I would recommend Loyal and Loved and Dr Raf without any hesitation whatsoever.

Dr Raf was wonderful. The moment you choose to say good bye to a loving pet is heartbreaking and he comes into your space quietly and gently and full of compassion. Our little Zara barely noticed his presence and he treated her with care and respect from the moment he arrived to the moment he gently took her away. We should all be so blessed to have such a peaceful passing. Dr Raf checked in with us before his visit and provided after care checking up on us and making sure we received Zara’s ashes in time before we moved. I cannot recommend him enough.

Dear Dr Raf,You are such a special kind of person. Thanks to you so much for being there when we needed you. It was so hard for us to say goodbye to our beloved baby cat. We will be forever grateful to you for the caring way you came in and put our Mimi to sleep in a peaceful moment.We look forward to seeing you caring for our other cat Fifi.Please keep up the excellent and caring work that you do.

Dr Raf is delightful, knowledgeable, caring & considerate. We have a standard sized dog who is 15.5 years old & getting arthritis in his hind legs & is limping with front paw at the moment. We’re hoping he improves as definitely not ready to put a dog down that still wants to eat, get involved with family & be part of everything. Dr RAf’s attitude is amazing & no task to big for him. He spends a lot of time to try diagnosing the issue a lot more than any other vet I’ve seen to date. I’ve had several pets so I’m speaking from experience.I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr Raf helped us through the process of saying goodbye to our beloved Bean. He was just amazing. It was the first time for our 2 kids (21 and 23) who were absolutely devastated and they have both said how great he was at helping them through a harrowing task. He answered all our questions and spent time making sure this was as good a memory as possible. I have had to euthanasia 2 dogs at the vet in the past and I can't stress enough what a different and superior experience a home service is. We are all absolutely gutted that we lost our best pal but feel proud we chose the best possible scenario at the very end.
