Wayward Winery

Lovely meals and very pretty venue. However, coffee was cold and when we asked for salt and pepper were told she’d bring it over after she had served a few more tables. Table service needs working on!!!!

We visited with some friends who are locals and were treated to a delicious lunch. Every dish was tasty and fresh. The chips deserve a special mention as they are a whole meal in itself! Super chunky, crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside.The service was very warm and friendly. They accommodated for some special requests and also made sure our dog had some water.The interior styling of this venue is very tasteful yet the dining experience was still a relaxed one. We hope to visit again one day!

We had an amazing mother's day lunch at Wayward on the weekend, fantastic food, great service and amazing wine. The views are just as spectacular and would recommend to anyone for a visit!

A new regional gem for Ballarat-Pyrenees. The food is fantastic with a great range of wood fired pizzas and high-end share plates, as well as the occasional special that extends to a large chunk of eye fillet perfectly cooked. Superb desserts too. Their wine production is undergoing a revamp but what's on offer from the estate at present (sparkling and shiraz) is very good drinking. The service and views are both excellent, so do yourself a favour and stop in - but you'll probably need to book because Wayward is already busy!

Amazing food, amazing accommodation, amazing staff, and amazing location, all made an amazing wedding! The food is incredible, we haven’t stopped talking about it since. Even the seperate dishes for me with dietary requirements were just the best! The newly renovated house is stunning! Thank you to Ted who was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make our whole experience memorable.

This place is just great. Had such a lovely time here for lunch on the weekend. Very welcoming host. Amazing food and wine, and beautiful setting. Will look forward to being able to come back here.

We had been to the former Quoin Hill Winery here on several occasions, always pleasant and welcoming..... but the new wining/dining venue here - Wayward Winery- is simply brilliant!!Just an easy drive from Ballarat, Wayward Winery is set to be a hit on the local fine food/wine scene.Venue building has been designed with taste and an eye to capturing the great views from the full-length windows. Our spot near the wood fire on a cool day was a plus. In warmer weather the spacious balcony and covered rotunda areas will certainly be pleasant and popular places to send and hour or two.After impressing when we made a phone booking, in-person front of house, Lain, turned out to be charming, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff member.Ordering from a very comprehensive and slightly off-beat menu resulted in some outstanding and interesting dishes from the kitchen.No worries about the freshness of the vegetables - they come from the eight or ten new garden new just out the side.Wine prices by the glass (for quality wines) were OK, but the bottle prices were a little steep.When the word gets out about this recently-opened spot, it is sure to be on the must-visit list for many locals and visitors. Overseas visitors would go nuts about the scenery with its rolling hills, flocks of sheep and lambs, and even a few wind turbines for good measure.Again... brilliant!!Barry Fitzgerald, Buninyong
