Joseph Gerrard Self Defence for Kids

Our son has been training with Joe for 3 terms now, we put him into classes to help him with focus, taking direction and to learn how to cope with his anger in appropriate ways due to ADHD. Our son loves class each week and Joe has helped him to understand what is appropriate behaviour and how to handle himself in difficult situations including how to pick himself up and keep on going when things might be hard. Joe has also helped myself & hubby when we have had difficult weeks with our son giving up his own time to have one on one time with our son. Our son has progressed up to the next class and will learn new techniques this term and hopefully next term will start 2 classes per week. We recommend Joe to anyone who wants their kids to learn self defence / martial arts, he really cares about the kids and has a genuine interest in helping them thrive.

Joe is awesome. My kids enjoy his classes. My son looks forward to his classes every Monday because he says he is going to his Ninja training with his Master. (He is 4yrs old.) I also have my Daughter who is 11 attend the classes every Monday and it has helped her with her anxiety. She now looks forward to her classes and has gained more confidence within herself. She thinks Joe is Cool for and adult. (Hehehehe 11yr old thinking she a full blown teenager, were no adult is cool enough to hang out with.) Thanks Joe keep up the awesome job you do. Very highly recommended.

My son start with Joseph beginning of march he already has his yellow belt which he did work hard for. He absolutely loves Joe's classes my son is 6 he has adhd at first I was nervous for him but he excelled really well and Joseph is fantastic with all the kids. He is very professional and patient. All the kids love him. I would certainly recommend his classes.

Our 6 year old son started training with Joe around 6 months ago, both one on one & in classes. Being a bit of a sensitive overthinker who was never really confident in his skin, we needed someone who had the patience & skill to provide him with the tools to build himself up, while being mindful.Joe allows my son time to process what he is doing & we are seeing such an improvement. He has a new found confidence & puts a trust in his body that wasn't there before. Joe is well respected by his students & is able to adapt his teaching style to cater for each students needs. We cannot recommend him enough.

I started my son in self defense classes to improve his confidence and broaden his friendship group. His 3 year old sister has now joined the class as well.Jo is an amazing and very tolerant and skilled teacher. He has a manner with young kids that I admire.My son and daughter love going to his lessons.I cannot recommend him and his classes enough.

Brilliant! My 6 year old daughter has been attending Monday classes for a year now. We have definitely noticed her confidence level has improved significantly, she is extremely happy, learnt some excellent self defence technics and we absolutely adore Joe.Joe is amazing with kids, he makes every class fun and enjoyable, he finds amazing ways to connect with each and everyone of his students. He is very punctual and professional. Highly recommended. A+++An absolute 11/10!!!

Joe is an amazing instructor! My son absolutely loves every class and I have seen significant improvement in his confidence, co-ordination and agility. My youngest can’t wait until he is old enough to join in on all of the fun! I have also been a part of Joe’s women’s program, which was a life changing experience for me. Joe and the group were so supportive and encouraging. I recommend all of Joe’s programs.
