The Gorge Camping Grounds
An all time favourite spot. Peace and quiet.Love the donkey boiler for hot water. Bit of wool traffic on the way in pictured.

The Gorge Camping Grounds
After calling to raise concerns of the extremely loud music til 2 am coming from the camp site by the river, the caretaker I spoke to dismissed our concerns, said ‘these things happen’ and there was a family function at the camp grounds. The following night, the excessive music went til 4am and when other campers asked to turn the music down, the campers of the Gorge site threatened violence and used abusive language. Do not give these people your business. They have no respect for consideration.

A very beuatiful place with stunning scenery and friendly owner. Traditional basic bush camping at its very best. Plenty of wildlife makes this a perfect location for a day visit or bring your camping gear and stay for while.

Short 'ish drive from the Swich, longer obviously from Brisbane, but worth it for the views and swimming hole. Camp spots look good further down, by the river.

Amazing place. Forest that looks like it came from a fairly tale (especially at night). Nice isolated camp spots near the creek.Lovely owner.Facilities: toilets with running water but nothing else.Very cheap price

The Gorge Camping Grounds
They don’t call it The Gorge because it’s ugly. It’s a fantastic camp site and great for kids. Five stars for the setting, the views, the creek, the fishing, the kayaking, proximity to Moogerah Dam, closeness to Brisbane, lack of traffic on the way out there (sure beats battling the M1 at 5pm on a Friday). The toilets are ‘rustic’ at best (but clean), there’s no power or water, and it can get a little dusty in places, but overall this is such a gem of a place, Val is so lovely, and the other campers have all been wonderful. As long as you know to expect a bush camp, and bring your own shower, you’ll have a ball. We keep coming back and absolutely love it.

Basic camping with an amazing outlook over flowing water down from Moogera Dam. Not many sites maybe a dozen or more.Lovely quiet spot during week days. Day visitors over weekendsCan shoot down the shallow rapids on air beds for great fun. Each site has fixed fire pits with moveanle steel grates.Byo drinking water (fill containers 15 mins away at information centre in Boonah).Flushing toilets and tap creek water on hand.Showers are cold creek water...bucket into overhead showers.Sites range from good solar to very shady sites called rapid sites further on in the gorge. To book best to catch owner in evening on home or mobile no.

Best camping South West of Brisbane. Beautiful tranquil camping. We camp off grid so we don't make use of the ablution. Right on the river. Dog friendly on a lead. Owner is very nice and friendly. Can buy wood from a neighbour coming around daily.
