The Astor Grill
Disappointing. New waitress had no idea about the specials or what some ingredients were. Fish was undercooked. Sides were ok. We had been waiting for so long to get there only to be disappointed. Shame.

Wow - hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. The service was lovely, all staff were very nice and attentive and the food was perfection! I got the steak 157 (eye fillet) cooked medium rare and it was like butter in texture, absolutely Devine! Thank you for a memorable experience and being so accomodating with our pram and 6 month old! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend :)

A charming restaurant with a good menu and a nice wine selection. The staff were efficient and the presentation of the meals were excellent.A nice place to revisit for a special occasion.

Classic Tasmania styled Brasserie dining! A bit of a time capsule really, classic dishes like quail Ballontine as well as some mean steaks on the menu (untried). Vegetarian dishes are a bit mixed, avoid the pasta but cauliflower side was excellent. Whisky ice cream is worth saving some space for

The Astor grill is a wonderful place to dine,The service is amazing, consistent and courteous ensuring you are made feel valued genuinely.The meal sizes are just the right portion sizes and cooked beautifully, your water glass never empty.The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable with just the right amount of ambience.It's definately money well spent, I've dined twice and will certainly dine there again. The only regret I have is not thinking to leave a tip.

Fantastic dinner, very nice steaks, starters and side dishes. Brilliant selection of wines and a great mix of local and international cheeses. Staff were very friendly and really made the night one to remember! Thank you for such a brilliant experience in the heart of Hobart!

Cozy, some food outstanding, but definitely did not meet expectations for the price. Would not recommend the duck as pomegranate sauce all over was way too sweet, sickly and ruined the overall dish. Service was very basic, felt that waitress did not have time for us.

Ordered 2 stakes and had to wait for quite a long time to get served on table which made me unhappy even before receiving the food but once I have got the stake and started having it, I reliased it was definitely worth of waiting for the time to get this beautifully cooked stake. It was the best stake I’ve ever had for my life in Australia.Waiting staff were friendly and even the cocktail was amazing.

The Astor Grill
The Astor Grill is a charming restaurant that belongs to another era - and really suits Hobart. The decor is warm and friendly with rich fabrics and timber; the entrance flanked by pillars and the inside walls near the kitchen a treasure trove of liquor.Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, making a point settling us in quickly and then leaving us breathing room to decide on our meals. The food was simple but very good and service was quick.Well worth a visit.
