Joe Farr Fishing Charters

Had a great day on board with the boys. We didn’t have to do anything but fish. We were taken to about 4 different locations and caught fish everywhere we went. Whiting flathead travelly. And those dam parrot fish. So many of them. Conversation was great. All the crew were knowledgeable and experienced. All our fish were cleaned filleted and bagged. All we did was take them back and BBQ them. Would definitely go back on board and do it again. I would highly recommend this charter service.

Had an awesome morning fishing with Joe & John. Kids throughly enjoyed themselves. Caught lots fish which we ate for dinner and couldn’t get enough of. Thanks to the both of you for making the experience so good and making us novices so welcome on you boat. And yes, the protected Banjo shark as per photo was returned to the sea.

Couldn’t recommend Joe’s Charters more!! Went on a sunrise charter with Joe and John, both really lovely guys - really easy going and friendly. My first ever fishing trip and they made it so enjoyable - would be a great charter for beginners to experienced, they cater to your level of experience. They scale and fillet your catches for you- sending you home with a great bag of fish ready to cook. They’re super knowledgeable about the area and took us to all the good spots depending on the weather, even showed us the cool Sorrento seals!! Really recommend Joes Charters to anyone!

My grandson and I have fished Port Phillip Bay for quite a few years, we usually take home a good feed of Flatties and the odd Whiting. Although we have always wanted to land a decent Snapper or two lack of experience regarding locations, technique, tides etc. have meant that the bigger Snapper have eluded us. We decided that the best way to learn, and to have some fun at the same time, was to book an outing with Joe Farr Fishing Charters.We had been out with Joe a few years previously, on that occasion his knowledge of the Bay combined with his fishing methods resulted in a great day where we bagged several good sized Flathead and Whiting, all with a minimum of fuss and in a very comfortable and safe boat.So for our recent outing on the Snapper Joe suggested a few dates in December when the tides and moon phase would be favourable, we settled on the date and headed out early, my Nephew decided to join us and the hope was that we would each land a decent Snapper. Joe headed straight to one of his marks and set each of us up with his preferred rig and bait, this was followed by laying the all important berley. We sat on the mark for about two hours with nothing much happening (I would have given up long ago!) then suddenly my Grandson had a hit, although he struggled at times with the fighting fish Joe quietly coached him to the point when the Snapper could be netted. Over the next 10-15 minutes my Nephew and I each landed a similar size Snapper, then as quickly as they had come on the bite the action stopped.Joe achieved what we had hoped for and as a bonus he put us on to a few big Flatties on the way back to the marina. I would not hesitate to recommend Joe Farr to anybody looking for a great day out on the water, he really knows his stuff.

We had a great morning out with Joe. As a family with very little fishing experience we really couldn’t have asked for a better time. We caught some nice fish (which Joe even cleaned for us) and got to see some seals.

Had a great day.Joe is a great captain, fishing guide and host. Fantastic local knowledge from his former commercial fishing days so i always felt like a good catch was a shoe-in.... Looked after us all and we caught heaps of whiting, flatties as well as other oddities that went back.The key question is would i go with Joe again ? Yep - definitely.

Joe is very good, very experienced and he knows.what he is doing. we 6ppl caught about 10kg in.5.hours.

Joe is a great guy. He helps with the fish, fillet's them, and evenly splits them among the boat. Very reasonable prices.The charters are a perfect length of time. I would highly recomend, and it is 100% worth the money.
