Purchased a trailer socket via eBay. A couple of months after installing the taillights on my trailer stopped working. I was away at the time, did some testing and identified that it was a manufacturers crimp connection in the socket. I needed to do some primitive repairs while away to ensure I didn’t get caught out at night without taillights on my trailer. DPA requested that I send the unit back at my cost and they’ll reimburse me if they find the fault. While that is reasonable, I wanted to send a video of the unit being tested first which clearly identified the fault, though they would not provide me an email address. They also mentioned that it’s likely the warranty would be voided because I damaged the unit. The fault is still present and the current condition does not impact the original fault. I was also told it’s unlikely that it’s faulty because they’ve never had an issue before, which I find to be ridiculous statement. They’ve made it clear that it’s unlikely that the unit will be warranted, though still want me to pay for postage, and will not entertain viewing the video of the unit being tested first. Also, very slow to respond.
