I had James design and engineer my structural modifications and additions for my house. I was very happy with the detailing, types of materials used and options given for certain elements of the build. Being a builder its good to deal with someone with a common sense approach to the detailing of the work. I will be using his services in the future and would recommend their services for any building work.

Great experience from start to finish with James. We needed engineering plans drawn up for a retaining wall to submit to council. James was quick to respond, visited onsite and then had the plans to us all within a very short timeframe (and at a very low cost). I would definitely recommend Mellan Consulting.

James Mellan is exceptionally professional with terrific communication. He has handled a job for us over at stradbroke Island visiting twice and offering us cost effective solutions and creative advice. We will definitely be using James again on future projects.

Incredible operator to deal with. James was very efficient with his work and completed the job for us in record speed. We had actually had another engineer do works for us for the alfresco area and we changed engineers for the second part (the decking), and gosh I’m so pleased we did. James completed the work 100% times quicker than the other company, and his drawings were extremely thorough. Our builder was super impressed by his work and the comparison between his work and the other engineers was second to none. James was also very accommodating in taking requests out of hours and communicating on the weekends etc. I’m sure not a practice he would want to uphold but he was just so accommodating. If I was to do any Reno’s again, I would be 100% using James. Cc

I've worked with loads of engineers over the years, and I'm very pleased I switched to working with James. James is my go to engineer, very easy to work with, very personable, knowledgeable and switched on. Fast turnaround, and my clients love his work. I'd give him 10 stars if I had the option.

starting the process of building a new pool left me very confused even after talking to engineers,certifiers,QBCC and local council. But James made it all clear on the process and delivered great service and at a good price. Highly recommend
