It is a memorial so do not expect there is much to see. It is convenient for people who need to wait and pick up somebody from the airport, but do not want to spend on the expensive airport parking. There are around 10 free parking lots in the Memorial, which is about 2-minute drive to the Brisbane International Airport free pick-up spot. The place is accessible 24/7, and it is totally free. Can't complain, apart from the mozzies, if you want to get out of the car. Also, if you need to go to the washroom while you are waiting, tough, as there is none.

Its well worth a visit, there's an Audio button so you can hear all the history of Southern Cross Plane and all his stop over , there was a few security Camera so it feel safe., Overall its a great Monument.

Great little memorial worth visiting for free. Interesting things about Smithys" first flight which happened to be the first Trans-Pacific Flight all those years ago. Also home to the 2020 time capsule from Brisbane Airports New Runway
