To find that there was an exhibition of Archibald prize paintings on was beyond any expectation. I expected a provincial art gallery and found one of international standing. Some paintings made an impression that will last a long time. Such an impressive building too. The architectural details are like none I have seen before.

What a beautiful gallery! The building is thoughtfully designed and chic and the art on display was interesting and informative and moving. We got our favorite gifts in the gallery’s gift shop, including a couple of prints of some of the work we loved in the galleries. A treasure in Cairns!

The architecture is great, the place is well maintained. The young lady at the reception is so lovely and warm. Gold coin donation. It's a good place to spend 15-30mins in the middle of the day when it's too hot/ rainy outside.

Amazing showcase of the indigenous australian history and their culture. The musuem has 3 storeys with well planned interior. Absolutely loved the interior and the concept of the museum. Just takes 30 minutes to briefly go through the artifacts and paintings. Do visit the museum when in Cairns.

Certainly worth a visit. Don’t expect anything too grand but still lovely to walk around. Clean, nice set-up and exhibitions. Free entry and friendly staff. Very close to the esplanade.

Gorgeous building and displays. 100 yrs of The Archibald's was on display when we were there. Lot's of beautiful old staircases to wind around but also has lifts if required. Bonus it's free entry and air-conditioned. You can make a donation on entry if you like.

The Cairns Art Gallery is a MUST DO when visiting. Fabulous service from staff. Free entry, absolutely beautifully done and lovely little gift shop. Stunning art works. Will definitely be back. Thank you
