Use to be a really good fish shop ,Now it's just gone $h!t ,Hamburger is half the size of bun with a 50c piece size of bacon on it with no sauce ,Chips and everything else were hot on outside but cold in the middleReally disappointed as this use to be one of the best fish shops

Ordered 2 steak sandwiches, potato cakes and chips for dinner. Got home and the bread wasn’t toasted and bread was soggy. Chips disappointing and really dark.Worst part about it was when we called back to let them know about the sandwiches there was zero accountability only hostility.Yeah nah... not going back.

Most of the time the fish, chips and potato cakes are overcooked and oil needs to be changed guys. Used to always be lovely. Am looking for a new venue. Young staff look disinterested. Senior lady actually knows what she's doing and was checking orders for salt, often forgotten.

The chips were old and zero flavour. The potato cakes needed more time to cook but apart from that the burger was tasty as well as the spring rolls

Stopped at Rubicon for some fish n chips. I regret this almost as soon as I'm being served. Could not understand the server, far too quiet. Asked for both salts (chicken and normal). We were not asked about if we wanted vinegar. When the meal was brought out, there was a stingy 15-20 chips in the box, 2 very thin potato cakes all overdone in old oil. The fish looked alright until I bit into it, it was thin and tasted like old oil, as did the whole meal. The salting on the chips was terrible, I had to go back and do it myself as there was quite literally 1 shake on there. When I asked for vinegar and I kid you not, it was in a spray bottle, so in effect you could not taste it. This meal was disgusting and stale. Never going back there.

Great place for fish and chips. Always consistent- good value for money. Can't give 5 stars because fish and chips are always subjective but we've found this is one of the better ones around.

New to the area, looking for a decent fish n chip shop and came across Rubicon Fish Shop.Looked busy, so thought, why not... What a mistake.Started the minute I opened the bag. Looked like a half serve compared to the fillet you normally get at a fish shop. Soon as I put my fork in it, I noticed it didn't crumble the way fish normally does. The fish fillet was no different to a piece of rubber, completely inedible. Never have I had a grilled fish so bad. In fact, if the serving of chips was the same, I wouldve given this shop 0 stars. If all you're after is some chips and maybe a potato cake or 2, no worries, or else, I would stay well clear of this shop. I won't be back.
