Been training at this school for years. Supportive environment, experienced instructors and varied classes. Highly recommend trying a class if you're thinking about getting into martial arts in the area!

The first day I walked into Mindfulness in Motion I was just hoping to find a form of exercise that was more engaging than going to the gym. Two years later and I have found much more than that. The school provides a variety of classes which cover Kung Fu techniques, fitness, flexibility, meditation, Qi Gong (like Tai Chi) and sparring. The different classes allow you to choose your personal focus and the atmosphere is welcoming and free of obnoxious macho vibes. Since discovering Mindfulness In Motion I feel both physically and mentally fitter. I highly recommend it.

Sifu Guy and the team at Mindfulness in Motion are truly excellent. My son has been attending classes for a year or so, and he loves it. I have been very impressed with how classes are run, and the professionalism and approach that the team takes to training, learning and the philosophy of Kung Fu generally. Highly recommended.

Great place to take your kids, Guy is a wonderful teacher. Kind, patient and attentive and your children will listen to him, he always has a calm control of the room. My son, Sam, although not sporty loves coming here, it's a fun and supportive environment.

My two young children have been under Guy’s instruction for some time now. I was so impressed by the approach taken by Guy and his team, I started with the Adults class. In the kids classes Guy and his team help your child to develop their self-defence skills but also, more importantly, their own personal skills of focus, resilience, thoughtfulness and internal strength. The children learn to actually improve themselves from within, not just how to hit people. The Adult classes cover aerobic physical sparring, to Kung Fu skill development and application, to a more meditative development of the Circles and Forms inherent in this Art form. There is a balanced and friendly atmosphere in all of these classes that make everyone, both male and female, feel encouraged and supported as they develop their own abilities in their way, at their pace. Can’t recommend highly enough

My son has been training at Mindfulness in Motion for nearly 2 years. He has a lot of fun in the classes and doesn't even realise he's practising emotional control, physical co-ordination and a non-combat approach to martial arts. Thank-you for another year of caring, learning and enjoyment!

This really is an excellent environment, from my perspective as a parent of a kid attending, and as someone who has practiced martial arts for some years. If you're looking for a place for primary or high school kids, I really cannot imagine a better school and teacher in Guy. He is incredibly constructive, attuned and empathetic, I can see how his approach helps kids to flourish and be accountable to themselves. The training is real-deal and focused, whilst being totally age appropriate, and has well thought out goals and fun activities. I really respect how Guy has such skill in working with kids and creating a great training environment, whilst avoiding the trappings of some schools to churn out gradings and add ons.Personally, as someone who has trained in various forms of kung fu for quite a few years, I've been so pleased to find this school. The form is unique and challenging, internally driven and applied, and a sound approach to biomechanics. There is incredible refinement to the discipline and the teachers have real depth of skill and experience, and are generous in sharing their knowledge. This is approached without fluff and mysticism, whilst giving a full range of approaches to develop skill, conditioning, and application. To me its very authentic and real deal for someone interested in self improvement through martial arts and kung fu especially. The culture of the school is fantastic too. Great people, enjoyable, focused, and a rewarding environment without a shred of ego. I'd recommend it to anyone interested for adult or kids classes, whether experienced or just starting out.

My 9 year old son has been attending classes with Guy for about 2 1/2 years. I really appreciate Guy's capacity to make the classes fun, informative, active and engaging. Besides teaching Kung Fu skills, Guy also incorporates crucial life skills, like determination, positive thinking, focus and emotional regulation. Meanwhile, the kids just think they're having a great time, playing games and learning Kung Fu! My son is so keen to get there every week we are usually the first ones to walk in the door. It has boosted his confidence and perseverance in other areas of life. Thanks, Guy, for all your patience and compassion you give to my son and all the kids in the classes. We love being a part of this community. :)

After having trained for many years outside of Melbourne, it was hard for me to find a school which satisfied my desire for technical teaching of kungfu, inspiring instructors, and a good number of highly skilled senior students. This place ticks all these boxes. I have now been training here 3 years and hope to do so for many years to come.Definately reccomend comming in and meeting the great dedicated people.
