Colmar Estate

An unplanned weekday visit to Colmar proved to be exceptional. The owner Bill proved to be a knowledgable host who showed us a wonderful section of his premium, award winning wines. A relatively small batch winemaker the results of Bill's skill as a vigneron, and wine lover are displayed in the quality of the wines he produces. If you love cool climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling (and others) Colmar should be a compulsory visit in your winery tour of Orange. Thanks Bill we will be back.

Tanzi is wonderful. We had a great wine tasting today. Informative, passionate, and genuine. Oh, and the wines are really something special too.

If you like white wine this is a good place to go. The owners were friendly and the tasting room has a nice view of the vineyards.

Amazing experience. Very knowledgeable & pleasant sommelier. The wine is very good, lovely outlook from the cellar door. If your only going to one winery in Orange, this is it, highly recommended.

Jane gave us the best experience in Orange. Of course the wines tasted amazing as well.I came from Sydney to visit 11 wineries over 4 days.I also loved other wineries in Orange as everyone that I met was so passionate and loved their own wines.But I love French wines and if you are a fan of French style wines, this is the best place you can find it from Orange.All the wines here are so well balanced especially Chardonnay and Pinot Noir! They are the best!I've never bought more than two bottles of wine from other wineries but from Colmar Estate, I bought 6 bottles of wine.Thank you so much Jane for giving us such a special experience and I truly love your wines!

It’s a small vineyard right at the top of the growing range - with a range of whites and reds (and the odd sparkling).They tend to bottle each block separately. And it’s quite incredible the variety observable in parcels of fruit grown within spitting distance of each other.Definitely recommend the premium tasting - where you can try vintages and blocks side-by-side and appreciate these differences.Tasting costs can be put towards bottles - so it’s an easy investment.Do yourself a favour and head there!

We were in Orange and decided to do one vineyard and happened upon Colmar. So glad we did. Tanzi was thoroughly engaging and knows her wines and the estate really well. Not pushy at all but didn't need to as the wines more than sell themselves.

Wine TourWe attended the Colmar Estate Winery as part of a wine tour hosted by Lyn from ‘Uncork Orange Wine Tour’. Being occasional wine drinkers but never previously doing a wine tour we weren’t sure how it all worked but from the minute we attended Colmar Estate we were welcomed in and provided some delicious wines. As each wine is poured you are given details of where that particular grape is grown on the property and you are able to look out the window at the vineyards. The staff/owner gives you details on how that bottle of wine progresses from the vine, through harvest, through to it being bottled and you hear stories of how the owner fell in love with wines and rode around France on his bicycle enjoying the french wines.Colmar is a classy winery with a strong link to the Orange community, some very nice wines at reasonable prices.If you are in the Orange area, do a tour with ‘Uncork Orange’ or even just visit the cellar door at Colmar and buy some wine.
