Woodlands Rainforest Retreat

Don't stay here its not worth it!!! The Power went out 1 hour into stay. 6pm, then didn't come on until 2am. Local power out.. there solution, Giving us 4 tea lite candles. No power. No lights. No hott water. No heat. No fire... 8degrees and very dark and cold. Not able to cook. Or use anything in stay. The owner Refused any form of refund for half a night lost. First night $800 to sit in a pitch black cold room. Got excited to ride the bicycles.. guess what flat Tyers on both of them. Placed all our dishes in the dish washer end of stay then turned it on.. then they blamed us that the dish washer didn't clean them properly and charged another $70... cheap detergent they provide wont clean dishes well (scam) . There's no gym and they said they have not bothered to open it after covid because no one uses it, the gym is just dirty and messy inside and is in an unusable state . Lock downs ended over a year ago that's just lazy poor maintenance. $1600 for 1 and a half nights. 100% not worth it. Stingy new owners. This business will run into the ground with the lack of maintenance and bad customer service. The owners holidaying in japan and couldn't care less about his customers. Nobody got back to us after they said they would in 3 days time. Save your money and just enjoy a bush walk and stay somehere else. Every top class stay has back up generator's and take the duty of care to maintain there property's and care for there customers.

Could be amazing but is let down by lack of maintenance and attention to detail. Customer service is disappointing - anonymous text messages are not a great way to make a customer feel welcome. We tried to report an urgent maintenance issue soon after checking in and had to wait over 3 hours for a response to our voice message. Finally, the bed was very uncomfortable with a large dip in the middle. For $600+ a night it needs to be a lot better. It’s a real shame as the location is beautiful and the rooms and facilities have the potential to be so much better.

Terrible. Not worth the money.We stayed here many years ago and it was amazing, however this time was awful. There was no gas, so we had no hot water and had to move late at night to another cabin, which was freezing. We were given wood for the fire, which only lasted a couple of hours. I had to text and call several times the next day to get more wood. Apparently, that was complimentary because of the gas issue, normally you have to purchase wood for the fire!So much was broken. The back door didn't lock. For the money we paid we expected much better. Definitely not worth the price. We won't be going back again.

It was a great experience and perfect holiday for the couple. What we experience in the place is really unbelievable. Great forest view from the cottage, it really very unique experience. Loved this place ! Thanks for the nice stay

Beautiful location. Love Narbethong.Cottage is run down and dated. The website pictures must be from when the cottages were new.Check in is at 430 pm!!For $620 per night the luxury just isn’t here. I’d be expecting top service, beautiful facilities and maybe some beautiful condiments and mini luxury products for the price tag. You don’t receive any of that. There was a loaf of bread ….For example the toiletries which they claim are amazing are half labelled with a brother labelling machine and you don’t even know what they actually are !It’s December and 4 degrees outside (la Nina) and we cannot light the fire !!! It is chilly and a fire would be beautiful but we are relying on the split system and a blanket (same as home so nothing special). Being cold a fire would be the perfect touch to ad some ambiance! Not an option I was told by the managers. It doesn’t feel like a customer focused experience at all. :(I have had my own fire lit at home for the last month..The cabin is semi clean but is still fairly grubby. Flies and dust behind curtains that haven’t been lifted up for months, splatter marks on doors and cabinetry, handprints on cabinets etc… just a bit too dirty to be considered luxurious …We have stayed in other places in the Yarra valley with similar outlooks, that are less expensive, with more provisions included for brekky, snacks, and treats and with great customer service.All that being said, it’s lovely to be away with my husband, I don’t really mind where we are !Glad that we came to give it a fair go but won’t be coming back. The cost was definitely excessive and the cabin did not live up to basic standards and was a far cry from luxurious. Im not demanding at all but would expect semi luxurious for the $600+ price tag per nightAbsolutely beautiful location in amongst the ferns. Despite being run down it’s private and beautiful ! …

This was a very special getaway. In one of the most picturesque locations. Love the use of the bikes and the on set private gym.

Just an amazing relaxing and peaceful place to stay. The big spa was a real winner and of course we met some new friends

Me and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon and it was delightful. Room was very cozy and amazing location. Was slightly disappointed with the service leading up to our booking but overall had a great time

I would like to share my awesome experience with this resort. This is my second visit and must say this is a very pleasant place with great sceneries.I recommend everyone to visit this place.

Been here for couple of days and everything was of lovely, clean and well maintained. Reception staff made our trip most memorable. Excited to visit again in the future. Thanks heaps.
