Mount Lion Cafe
French toast with peanut butter is very very good, highly recommend.Baked pork chop rice is plain for my liking, a bit too salty and not enough tomato aroma or flavouring in the rice.Service seems very slow, hence 3 stars. The shop gets very busy around lunchtime on the weekends.

The (instant!) noodle dishes are awful. The meat was okay, so if you’re somehow stuck here you should definitely pick a rice dish or other — still not sure why this place has such high ratings.

Got a homely feel to the cooking. Cheesebaked pork chop with tomato rice is the best. Pork chop was so tender and flavoursm. Got more cheese in my second visit. It was really good. The dry noodles were bit bland. Beef was partly tender, partly tough. Buttered toasts with condense milk was bit too hard and dry. Milk tea is so delicious, definitely taste the black tea in it, and it's not too sweet. Specials pork ribs with Chinese sausage was yummy as well.

Another place to enjoy authentic Hong Kong style food. We chose pork chop with rice. Pork chop was almost perfectly deep fried but onion sauce was weak. Serving of rice was generous. Another dish was chicken fillet with Nissin instant noodle in soup, a very HK taste. Very good but we wish the serve of noodle could be more generous. Another psychological preparation is, the shop is usually busy (with many talking in Cantonese) and noisy. Our wait for food were around 15 minutes. Very wide range of choices but will be great if we could have 乾炒牛河。

Sorry for the negative review I posted yesterday which was meant for another eatery. I have since removed my previous review. My sincere apologies.Mount Lion Cafe is surprisingly refreshing. It was our first visit after recommendation from a friend. The Cafe is clean and relaxing. The service was fantastic. We tried some of the old time favourites like Red bean ice drink and deep fried buttered toast. We relived our old Hong Kong memories. The owner Raymond was a fantastic host. He chatted with us for a long time just like old friends.Raymond please accept my apologies for mixing up your cafe with another one.

Friendly service and some really quite tasty lunch meals which felt like good value. Would highly recommend the satay beef noodle soup option though we also had some pork chops with rice which was equally tasty! Also pleased with the spaced out seating which didn't make it feel cramped.
