Couldn’t recommend Dave at Fly Mechanical enough! He is so informative and such a great guy to deal with. Always assured and comfortable I am leaving my car in great hands! 5 stars for a perfect local affordable service! Keep up the hard work Dave.

Where to start…if I could give zero stars I would.Took the car in to fly mechanicals to reseal the rear diff. They did the job but broke my hand break cable and said ‘it wasn’t their fault’ and refused to fix and replace it.Then without knowing it was the same owner I went to Margaret river exhaust center to fix a leak in my exhaust. When I came to collect the car it wasn’t starting (though the car was driving fine before) they said it wasn’t their fault again, invented the most ridiculous reasons (he suggested so many I couldn’t even list them) and began swearing and shouting when I said he had a duty of care to fix the issue.In the end they had mounted the air hose the wrong way around, they had remounted my front wheels incorrectly and on top of that there was still a leak. It took over two weeks of going back and forth and threatening to call the ombudsman to finally get it fixed. Talking to other mechanics this is not the first time they had customers who’d been abused by fly mechanicals. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They’re closer to scammers then mechanics.

Fly’s is definitely a mechanic to trust and super super helpful if in the Margaret River area. As all the other reviews have said, Dave is a real straight forward and friendly person.I was on my way to Margs from the East coast and finally when only about 1 hour from town, on a Sunday (of course), my car started over heating. Yay... my luck. Anyways, I looked up mechanics in the area and found a few. Only reason I reached out to Fly’s is that I saw someone gave him a call on a Sunday. I did not expect an answer or even service. But to my surprise, Dave did answer the call. All I asked is if I could catch him in the morning at his shop. He was kind enough to allow me to park my car at his shop over night and met the famous Dave in the AM.After some testing and brainstorming (he did not deny any of my suggestions) and we did find a solution together, which made me feel good to know that my opinion mattered. Lol. I didn’t feel like I was spoken down to in any way. Anyways, he flushed the radiator and found that I had a faulty Thermostat, replaced it and the car has yet to have an issue again, gauge might still be faulty, but the temps are cool as a cucumber. :PThanks Again Dave! I usually never write reviews, but with my experience with dave and fly mechanics I felt the need to share it. Dave is an extra ordinary mechanic, to give you a better understand let me share with you what happened. We where driving during holidays from perth to margaret river and our bus broke down. After calling a bunch of mechanics which didnt have time to tow us we came across dave. He jumped into his car and came straight away. After the inspection of the vehicle it turned out that it would be a bigger job, which was a big problem, because we were living in the bus and would be basically homeless. Dave invited us to stay in his place as long as needed and he and his wife Jo treated us very nice and even let us borrow their car for short trips to the surroundings. For the mechanical part of the job dave took a lot of time to explain the cost and the work which needed to be done and gave us a very fair price. He also was very helpful with advise for decision we had to take. In summary, I would point out that Dave is honest and trustworthy mechanic, which can be very rare in that business!

We were looking for a reliable garage and several times we were recommended to go to Fly Mechanic. Indeed, this garage is, without a doubt, the best in town. As a backpacker, we regularly come across dishonest garages who, when they see strangers, jump at the chance to make us pay a high price. Dave and Nick are professionals and are there to help. Thanks to them, we highly recommended. 5 stars Easy

Dave and Nic are some of the most honest mechanics I’ve ever met.They’re down to earth. Easy to deal with and if they don’t know the issue they’ll recommend seeing someone else before changing things that may or may not fix the issue.I’ve used them with 3 different cars and they are my mechanics of choice in town. Highly recommend!

More like Fly By Nighters! Paid $80 for Fly Mechanics to come out and check my van which had broken down. The so called mechanic" who came out spent just 15 mins there and then told me my carburettor needed a rebuild and I'd have tow it to Bunbury or Perth and it would cost $1000. As it turns out

I'd give 6 stars if I could! I broke down nearby and limped into Dave's workshop unannounced: he kept me informed, fixed my motor as soon as the part arrived, gave me some more advice on issues, and charged a very reasonable amount when he could have taken advantage (but he's just not that sort of guy!). No wonder there's so many 5* reviews! Now I'm thinking I should drive down to Margaret River for my regular car services lol.

Had this guy come out to have a look at my van which wouldn't start. He couldn't diagnose the issue because apparently he forgot the required equipment. After a few minutes, he told me it was an electrical issue, which is what I had told him on arrival. He made me pay $100 on the spot on the agreement he would return the following morning with the correct tools to diagnose the issue. He never showed up, so by the afternoon I phoned him to ask where he is - he said he was just too busy to help, even though I had already paid him and he had already agreed to help. I then had to find a way into town to get half of my money back. From his diagnosis" of an electrical fault
