Relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff, excellent menu with the addition of enticing specials. The lunch time seating was quite full but the space meant we weren’t crowded. Staff accommodated our 5 year old daughter. The kingfish was full of flavour however parts of the dish were cold and the fish itself was only just warm. The Balmain Bugs were sensational as was the chocolate dessert. Lovely and tasty dips platter and the potatoes were very crunchy and flavoursome.

Great service and delicious food. We got the banquet menu, where every dish was great. The staff were super welcoming and friendly - very professional and knew their stuff. The food and wine came quickly, and were all very tasty. The only small strange thing was they used the same main plate for all the different dishes - so the fish was mixing with lamb, mixing with the chicken etc. It would have been good to change plates between dishes. Overall - highly recommended

I came here for Valentine’s Dinner and the food and service was absolutely amazing. As someone who has a seafood allergy they were easily able to accommodate my needs and the alternative dishes I got compared to my partner were just as a beautiful.

We celebrated my birthday and loved everything about our experience. The food was superb, as was the wonderfully friendly staff and atmosphere. I would give them a ‘6’ if I could. Fine dining that lives up to its name.

Pomegranate delivers a truely special experience. The inside and outside of the restaurant are absolutely beautiful. The seating arrangement is comfortable and the tables are spread out enough that you can easily talk to others at your table. The quality of the food was top notch, and served suprisingly quick for a fine dining restaurant. Each dish had a complex flavour profile that changed with each mouthful depending on garnishes accompanying the main feature of the plate. The restaurant offered a view into the kitchen, which meant that you could see how much effort and love the chef's put into the food they serve, it was a fun experience.Highly recommend Pomegranate for a romantic or celebration dinner.

Liked all 5 dishes in the degustation so would definitely recommend it. Dessert with the chocolate mousse and sour cherry sorbet was devine. Loses one star for service not being that great. Refilled water, but didn't ask if we wanted another drink. May have been short staffed.

For me every plate was amazing. One mistake was a medium rare stake... Was bloody. As meat is thick and chunky, I wish I had a medium stake. The fish plate was amazing.

Summary: Very enjoyable experience. Would love to try the banquet next time, looked very enticing. The recently hatted Pomegranate Restaurant is on the ground floor of the formidable York Apartments in Kingston. The inside reminded me of Ottoman cuisine but not as corporate. Still kitsch and romantic though. I would describe it as Australian/Turkish fusion. The waitress was very brisk and quick. I didn't see her make any mistakes, but found her a tad unsettling. I felt there was something more I needed to say but she ran off too quickly. I used to be like this when I was younger and didn't understand why others were left perturbed. The food was a solid 4/5. I enjoyed my entree of prawns, but my friend thought his zucchini fritters were undercooked and tasted of raw flour. The converse was true for the mains: my friend enjoyed theirs but I thought my duck was gamey. It was 2 large legs, (so a very generous potion) but it needed more spuds, spinach and sauce.
