Pokolbin Distillery

This distillery was delightful in so many ways. The staff were super friendly from the time we arrived. They even gave us credit fir a future booking as two from our party didn't show. The products were amazing and the staff very knowledgeable about their products.

Had a great experience with a tasting there. Staff were knowledgeable. The spirits aren’t available in Sydney. Some interesting varieties as well. Really nice design and fit outs.

PD had only been open 4 days when we visited. We found it through a referral, and so glad we did. They have an amazing variety of locally produced gins, vodkas and liqueurs, many of which are made using European techniques and recipes. The staff are friendly and fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! I'm lucky enough to live local, so looking forward to regular visits. However, if you're in the Hunter and want a break from wine tasting, give PD a crack and see if you can guess the Friar's Secret!

We had an awesome and insightful and experience today. Not only are all the house made spirits and liquors delicious, but the hosts are so good at what they do. We had a lovely lady named Teresa, and she made us feel so comfortable!!Definitely recommend this place

Vodkas, gins and liqueurs. We had a great time as a family tasting some options. The standard tasting package gives you the option to taste 5 spirits from what's on offer. However, some who were there seemed to have gone the full spread. The staff are friendly and know their stuff. The different flavours are delicious and everyone in our party of six found at least three or four flavours that they considered buying. If we hadn't just bought a bunch the previous day, we would have walked away with several bottles. Prices are comparable with other local distilleries.

Go to the Hunter Distillery instead!Pokolbin Distillery charge $15 for a tasting and this in NOT refunded when you buy something.I bought a bottle of their Salted Caramel Vodka and foolishly assumed the tasting would be free on purchase and really didn't pay attention when I tapped (my mistake). So I got a $15 surcharge on the bottle of vodka.Hunter Distillery charge $5 for the tasting but don't charge that if you buy something.

Mostly I wanted to try the gin, & I did end up getting a bottle of the Bush Gin to take home. The Native Plum Finger Lime was also nice, but the Blue Island was, to me, a typical example of a tipple that plays up the butterfly pea colour changing gimmick to try to make up for the flavour. (Just not to my tastes, ultimately - I’m sure others would disagree with me on this!)Staff were lovely & knowledgeable and the tiny tasting cups are totally charming.A bit disappointed that the tasting fee isn’t put towards cellar door purchases as it is at some other places, but I do understand the need for it.

After terrible experience at distillery up the road was relieved to have such an enjoyable experience here. Great tasting (I only tried gins) and bought a bottle. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. The building/ design/ decorating is beautiful.Highly recommend stopping here.
