Almanda Silver Mine Complex
As Parks go meh. There are some historical signs and a few walls left by the original mine. There is a steep hiking trail on the other side of the road. There is no public transport, but there is a lot of traffic along the road for what appears to be an off beaten track. People speed along dirt road so don't let kids lose need the dirt road as the vision is not great

Nice place to take a walk.Wildflowers and a koala.When you finish this go up the road turn left on Matthews road to see Mackereth Cottage in ruins now

Interesting historical site. We stopped by chance as we were driving through the hills. Didn't do the full walk unfortunately as we had our dog with us (who couldn't come on the walk as its national Park). Signage is in good condition and easy to read.

Nice walk. Be aware, half the place is shut during part of the season. Got stuck having to walk back.

Good place to explore but it's a shame they have fenced off all the shafts and tunnels so you can't access them

Half the mine site is closed.Any building still standing is full of graffiti, the stamping machine gearbox is overgrown and thistle grows over the path, making the site compromised as a historic site, photo opportunity or nature walk.It is a pity because the geology of the ore body is quite unique, different than other silver mines in the Mt Lofty ranges.

This is a beautiful area, plenty of wildlife and such.The mine was about 50 metres into hill side with full access but now safety issues has had the site sealed. Just another example of the government bubble wrapping the community.
