Solo Pasta

From the outside, Solo Pasta doesn't look like much, just another unassuming restaurant front along Smith St.With the hustle and bustle that is Smith St, you'd easily walk past and not notice this place, however, if you're lucky enough to see it and you're in the mood for pasta.....then this place is for you.As you walk in, you're welcomed by friendly, smiling staff, a light and vibrant atmosphere, and some amazing smells!The Chitter chatter of friends, family, and others while enjoying a glass or 2 of wine, (or bottle), adds to the atmosphere.The food itself was delicious! It arrived in a reasonable time considering how busy it was. We started with some arancini to start, we were pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the shape of sticks instead of balls, however, it tasted delicious. A touch of spice which was nice while a sprinkling of parmesan added to the taste. Served with a small salad and what looked to be some house made tomato pasta sauce.Our mains also served at the same time which smelled amazing! The server offered some fresh cracked pepper before disappearing off to serve another table. With 3 metres of pasta in the plate and a delicious creamy sauce with chorizo, chicken, bacon, and some cream, I didn't know where to start. Soon enough it was all gone. The pasta was hand made and tasted as such. The sauce was light and didn't even taste like it had cream in it.I love the concept of being able to choose your pasta flavour (currently, classic, beetroot, or spinach) then simply select your length of pasta (standard is 3 metres but you can add additional metres if you're hungry) then finish it off with your choice of sauce....there's plenty to choose from! Let's just say you'll be back again and again to eventually eat your way through the menu (or maybe that's just me!)I would definitely recommend checking out this place and giving them a go! In terms of the serving size, personally, I'd have gone for another metre or 2 of pasta as I was rather hungry but I found that the Crème Brûlée dessert did hit the spot and filled me up nicely. A nice crunchy top with some berries and a deliciously decadent filling....it was just what I needed on a Friday winters night.Definitely returning again!

If you're a pasta lover this is a cool experience. The process of ordering pasta is definitely simplified. There is only one cut of pasta in 3 different flavours, then you choose from the selection of sauces. I'll definitely be back if I ever have a hankering for pasta. There are so many bad options for pasta these days that it's nice to finally find something original. Not just your average bolognese or carbonara.

I love this pasta spot! The have a lovely casual vibe, and so many pasta flavours. I love the concept of a 3 m pasta portion, which is sooo generous we were so full. The chicken pasta was a standout! It's cool because you can pick your own combination of sauce + flavours. Can't wait to go back and try the seafood pastas.

I live pretty far from this place but I would 1000% make the journey again. This pasta was so unique and delicious! Got the beetroot pasta with the cherry tomato base and the spice was perfection. My co-eater ordered the chicken curry base and was so blown away! (Honestly this looked and smelled sensational too!) such an incredible experience!

I love how versatile the menu is; there's certainly something for everyone here. I tried the trio of mushrooms which is a cream based pasta as well as the chorizo which is tomato based, and both were flavorful without being overbearing. The standard portion is already quite filling but you have the option to add more pasta if you'd like. The tiramisu was also really good, though there was more cream than sponge. The garlic bread wasn't too great since I could barely taste any garlic, just butter.

I absolutely love this place. Food is incredible and amazing flavours. I loved it so much I had to order two pastas as one just isn't enough.

Service is quick and friendly. We had a table booked for 7pm on a Friday, but were able to be seated at 6.45 as the table was ready. The pasta is filling. Stuck to the standard 3m pasta. You’d have to be very hungry to be able to eat more. We ordered the following:Aubergine, fresh oregano, capers, roasted capsicum, bocconcini.Crumbed fried chicken, parmesan, buffalo mozzarella.Slow cooked shredded beef, fresh grated parmesan.Garlic bread.They were all tasty. The aubergine pasta was a bit too overpowering with garlic for my taste. It had more garlic in it than the garlic bread which just tasted like plain toast.

Solo Pasta does pappardelle pasta by the metre! What a fascinating concept. The best part is that they have options that are vegan friendly and gluten free! Great place to eat that is inclusive of different dietary requirements.They have an array of pasta flavours and even some unique ones for the adventurous. My only critique is if you like your pasta with lots of sauce then this place may not hit the spot for you. Definitely worth a try either way!
