Iona Presentation College

I was a former employee at Iona as a groundsman. For the most part the school itself is great and the teachers are great.However, Mrs Anne Pitos should not be in the education system at all. With some on going issues with mental health myself I was in a meeting with Anne to explain my absence from work.When i explained my situation that i have been battling mental health with doctor notes and psychologists proof, Anne spent about 10 minutes belittling me and telling me how im unreliable and useless and i should be fired.She literally spent a full 10 minutes bullying me telling me how bad a person i was, and to add to that it was during the r u ok week. She had an extremely dismissive nature toward me and mental health altogether.As i spoke she cut me off multiple times and kept saying rude things. Shes a terrible role model for Iona as an education system, clearly her religious beliefs where not equip to fathom modern issues like depression and anxiety amd basically just said mental health is not a valid reason to take time off work".Absolutely disgusting attitude from a principle no less."

What an amazing school! Thank you Mrs Pitos and the Leadership Team for creating such a supportive and encouraging learning environment for our exceptional teachers to do what they do in helping each and every student achieve the best they can and more. I could not recommend the school enough for what they have done for my daughters. I know of families who had considered other 'all-girls' schools and then came to Iona and have never looked back. The school 'Accomplishments List' just keep growing which may explain why I keep hearing Iona is Perth's best kept secret' - I could not agree more!!"

I have nothing but good things to say about this school. I realise that no one school works for every student however our experience has been a stellar one. The pastoral care and quality of education has exceeded our expectation and our girls continue to love every minute. Five stars from us!

I've had two daughters at Iona and I simply couldn't say enough about the support they've received over the years. Iona's committment to academic excellence, balanced with a strong sense of community spirit, has resulted in a truly wonderful, immersive experience for our entire family, and for that I will remain forever grateful. Highly recommended.

I have three daughters attending Iona Presentation College. My girls started in kindergarten and are making their way through the secondary school. The love, support and warmth the school community has shown our family has made this the perfect choice for our family. The staff identified my girls various strengths and encouraged them to explore new avenues, allowing each of them to be acknowledged and 'shine' in various aspects of school life. I highly recommend Iona.

Iona is an incredible school! The teachers are passionate, invested and supportive. I am so grateful for my education and memories. 2012-2017.

I live within earshot of the place and the yard noise persistently dominates the airspace within my dwelling. The staff allow the pupils to actually scream in the yard with no attempt to educate them to be mindful and considerate of others. It is not worth asking for something to be done about it because the receptionist doesn't appear to ever pass on messages.I have read some of the negative reviews and I concur to a certain degree. I can talk from experience, because I have worked there and whilst some of the staff are magnificent, others are short on leadership qualities and tact. One particular principal was prone to constantly inserting herself over the public address system and rearranging the timetable thus wrecking lessons that had taken hours to prepare in my own time. I say no more and am very happy not to be there anymore.

All they talk about is “community”, but being honest, this school is the furthest i have ever felt from a “community”. They care more about uniform than your mental health. I would dread attending school every day. It has never felt like a community and i’m confident it never will. It would always feel like teachers vs students. The way many teachers would act towards students was inappropriate and disrespectful. The teachers talk about respect, but out of all the experiences i’ve had at this school in my many years of attending it’s always been the teachers showing that disrespect.

Iona is a beautiful school with dedicated teachers and staff. As a past student myself, I have my daughter attending and she continues to thrive. An incredibly supportive community ensures my daughter is set for an amazing journey in life.

I have read some of the latest reviews that appears to have been written by people who are clearly not involved in the school environment. I have had a daughter at this school since kindy, and she is now in year 9. We are so pleased with the school both in the junior school and senior school. If you are considering where to place your daughter for her school journey, just stop at Iona and enjoy. You will love it as much as we do and I can't recommend it highly enough.
