Good times! A little old and patchy in parts but still a blast going down

It's RAD. Heritage listed skatepark. It's fun and creative. Seek the lines, achieve redness. It's a must do.

Great spot to take your bmx or skateboard. Concrete is a bit rough not smooth so gloves are a good idea and makes it nice and grippy.

Even though this skate park is old and a bit run-down we had a great time on bikes and with RC cars. As there is another new skate park in Albany, this one was empty which is a big bonus.

In 1969, when I was 14 (yr9 ASHS), my friends and I started using the old gravel quarry at the 'Snake Pit' site as a bike track which resembled the pushbike version of a scramble (MX) track. We used shovels and other basic tools to create a track with berms, jumps, drop offs and climbs. We only had standard 'grids', not BMX bikes, and would make improvements over the period of 2-3 years. We used it on and off and were very proud of 'our' track. When we hit upper school it was no longer cool for us to ride bikes, but I understand it continued to be used by younger kids. After year 12, 1973, I left Albany for uni and didn't return until 1978, and was dismayed to see that someone had redeveloped the site into concrete skate track and totally 'ruined' our track. However now I realise the importance of the replacement and regard my small roll as being part of the story even if not officially recognised.

Excellent, historical flow track. Much more appealing than modern skate parks
