The Mechanic Mackay

I chose to bring my vehicle to The Machanic Mackay from Emerald after receiving a much more reasonable quote. They came back with the quote super fast (several other places never got back to me at all) and it was booked in very quickly. The team worked hard to get it all done within the day for me (big job). The final price came in less than the quote. Highly reccommend Cam and the team and I will be a returning customer despite the distance. Thanks guys!

Was disappointed with my experience here as Cameron seems like a nice enough bloke but probably lacks experience. I handed in two of my cars with the Mechanics Mackay for a regular service and I will outline what happened:- 2012 Nissan X-Trail - Vehicle was serviced including replacing the belt. When I drove it back home there was this massive screeching noise which was deafening. I took it back the next day and despite checking everything, Cameron was unable to identify the fault. The solution was to replace the belt with another brand which has fixed the problem.-2013 Audi Q7 - handed this in for a service and it came back with oil leaking on my garage floor along with a burning smell. I took it back the next day and Cameron said that there was a pool of oil settled at the bottom of the engine and that he would have to have a thorough look stating that the estimate could go as high as $1,000. I took this to another mechanic who said that the oil plug needed to be replaced as its seal was cracked.Total costs of both services >$800Finding the right mechanic is important so I'll take this experience as a learning experience (albeit an expensive one).
