Josephine Falls

Absolutely stunning spot for a swim. There is a short and nice walk from the car park through the rainforest to the pools and falls. From there you can swim in the lower pool and slide down some rocks like a waterslide.There are a few falls lookouts at the top but no swimming is allowed here. Definitely check out Josephine falls

What an amazing Waterfall and swimming hole, and so glad that we stopped by for an afternoon dip. The water fall had 4 different tiers and the water are crystal clear however you will need to be a competent swimmer to be able to swim. It's a 700m walk from the carpark but well worth it. Would love to go back one day. Really need to visit far Nth QLD for these natural wonders.

I literally fell in love with this iconic and beautiful place. Many flat stones that you could spend hours your time to enjoy waterfall and peace including have some cool swim with freshly water. Alao, on your way there are plenty of Banana farms.

Located about 1 hour drive south of Cairns these falls are just 700m from the free car park. The tar mac path passes through mature rain forest, which is as beautiful as it is enchanting. The walk terminates at viewing points and also at the waters edge. Swimming is permitted at this location when the waters depth is not excessive. There is a depth guide in the pool but location is not manned by life guards. The same car park is also the starting point for a trek up Bartel Frere which rises to 1600m, is covered in prestine rainforest through which is a narrow track of forest floor. Going to the top and back is a hiking challenge in which local forest animals including leaches could be encountered.

Lovely place to visit, water so cool & refreshing very busy over long weekend, but still found a quiet place to take a dip.

Beautiful waterfall and swimming hole, have to climb over some rocks to swim but not too difficult. Lovely clear water. Shady areas under trees or can lie in sun. Didn’t need reef shoes as rocks are not sharp and bottom of swimming hole is just sand. Had a great time!

Really nice walk with a great view at the end, careful if you go soon after the rain, it's going to get very muddy and slippery.

Great swimming spot.Water falls, lots of rocks and strong currents..rock slides, but safe enough for a dip.

Visited mid-June. Great spot for swimming and cooling down. There were tourists around but only had a few people dip into the water. Water was so clean I drank it off stream.
