Choyan Restaurant
We have been dining at Choyan for the last 30 years during which time the food had always been good. Nothing exceptional, but still good.Our takeaway meal on Wednesday night this week was a shocker. Fried rice was very bland, the Sweet and sour pork was tasteless and over fried, the salt and pepper seafood was only half full.Not sure whats going on here. Maybe a change of chef or change of owner.Either way, we will be trying somewhere else in future.

Wonderful service by the waiters and very attentive. The Chinese cuisine served here is delicious and authentic. Definitely a restaurant I will keep going back to. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you receive. Everyone left with a full stomach and enjoyed all the food.

Authentic Cantonese cooking. The staff here are very attentive and informative. The food is very tasty without being oily and salty. Will definitely come here to eat again.

Please don't use left over cooked food to make dishes! Also, the left over rice can only make fried rice and cannot be served as fresh rice with dishes. It is so disgusting!

Fantastic throwback to the hay day of Chinese restaurants in Australia. The decor remains unchanged, replete with booths lining the walls and huge circular tables occupying the best spots. The service is fast and efficient. The menu is full of classics and the beer of choice is Crown Lager. The highlight is the Peking Duck done the way it should be: carved at your table and the pancakes assembly delicately for your enjoyment.

The first time that I visited the Choyan was about 38 years ago. It had a name for good quality food and service back then and nothing has changed.The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.Whether you are looking for a quiet dinner for two, or a banquet for ten, this is the place to come.We had one of the chef's specials, salt an pepper mixed seafood, honey king prawns and chilli fillet steak. All of which had generous servings and were full of flavour. The honey king prawns were the best we had had in quite a while.

Love this restaurant. Being coming for years since the girls were small. Went there tonight for our low key 25th wedding anniversary. Everything served with a smile and the food was great. Thank you Choyan!

To be honest a subpar suburban Chinese restaurant. Staff were quite pushy to order quickly despite the lack of other customers. Food was very average. Quite oily and processed.
