The worst hotel I ever stayed within Marriott group!- No upgrade or free breakfast for platinum members- hotel is undergoing renovations but not mentioned at Mariott booking site.- on check in, We were told the renovations are from 9am to 3pm but we were woken up with big noise of knocking down walls at 6:30am but it never stopped! We called the reception but no change- the renovations only happen in 3 levels and we were assigned to this level when the hotel is not fully booked- no bottled water or any mini bar in the room, only a small milk- train noise until mid night- no toothbrush

Stayed here back in June or July and it was an amazing experience! Beautiful place, incredible staff! And were very helpful and reassuring when we unexpectedly had to book another night due to the airlines cancelling all flights the day we were meant to leave.Wish my stay was longer but will definitely be going back as soon as I can!

We stayed for 3 nights in the Deluxe guest room, lagoon view with a balcony. We loved the breathtaking ocean views at the balcony. The hotel lobby and pool area were very enjoyable, even though the room itself is a bit outdated. If anyone is looking for a resort-style of accommodation in Gold Coast, this would be a pleasant choice.

Nice place, wonderful Lagoon pool with fish to explore and great buffet breakfast. A world class hotel that you can truely relax.Highly recommend when visiting Gold Coast on a special occasion with partner or kids.

The rooms are quite good, maybe a little small however, this probably depends on which type you book. The day spa and gym are good, as is the pool area. It includes the aquarium" beach pool complete with tropical fish. You can hire snorkelling gear and swim amongst them. There is also a water slide into the other resort type pool. There are bars at the venue as well. And the Gold Coast tram stops about 3 minutes away. Great place

worst experience ever. they call you and convince you to purchase a vacation package and then make it virtually impossible to book rooms. even if you're prepared to sit through the stupid meeting. I have tried to get my money back multiple times with no success. the only option is a charge back on your credit card

Great hotel. The rooms were clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. But the star attraction has to be the pools. The saltwater pool with real fish was a showstopper for the kids. Note: the heated pool features a strong current generator which is strong enough to knock adults off their feet, let alone kids. It’s lots of fun, but definitely not something the kids should do alone. Would have been 5, but there was a conference of some sort on one night which filled the lobby with hordes of drunk business people which we had to navigate our young kids through to get to the lifts.

Stayed at JW Marriot many times. It's my little getaway from the everyday life, and it's always a delightful, memorable experience for me. It isn't hard to understand why, with comfortable clean rooms, exceptional dining experiences, and friendly workers in the hotel and in the pool areas who work tirelessly to bring the entire experience to guests. The Marriot is a special place, and since its transition to the JW Marriot has changed quite a bit - but for the better. The hotel has only improved since my first visit in 2013.I mainly go for the swimming pools: a wobby-gong shark shaped chlorine pool that once had a lazy river that is now gone (for safety reasons, supposedly); and the saltwater pool which apparantly has fish, but I couldn't find any... But that saltwater pool is so nice to swim in because you float easily and the salt and sand makes my skin feel so soft.I have tried the teppanyaki years ago. When I went in 2017 it was great, I'm not sure if it's changed much. There is an underground carpark with two levels. It was easy to grab a park, but some of the spaces are tight if they are next to the walls. It's only a 10 minute walk from Cavill Avenue, and it's easy enough to walk to the beach to enjoy the surf and sand. The views from the balcony are insane. It's special to be swimming in the pool and looking up at the hotel rooms, and then retreat back to the room and looking down at the pool. Being able to change your perspective like that does something marvellous in the part of the human brain which experiences joy.
