Since the day my husband first spoke to John from Zuccala we have felt at ease and never pushed into anything we didn't want or need.After meeting him and going back & forth on numerous occasions with the different options we wanted and changes we requested, together we have come up with a beautiful custom design house plan.Before we had even signed with Zuccala their site supervisor came out on a Sunday to assess our site in person rather than just doing a drive by assessment.Last week we completed our Tile & colour selection appointments which were both very enjoyable with plenty of time allocated for us at each.Mark from TileCiti was so helpful in assisting with our tile choices and Alex was amazing when it came to all colour selecting at the Zuccala colour selection studio. We were even lucky enough to have Mark in ops introduce himself to us that day who was also lovely & helped make us feel completely at ease with all things going forward.Whenever we have had a question it is always very quickly answered by both John and Mendo whether that be by phone or email.We cannot recommend this builder enough and have thoroughly enjoyed our experience thus far :-)

We signed with Zuccala in 2017. We decided to go with them after they made false promises that they would accomodate concrete flooring.The day we went to do the colours they were rushed and made us chose the whole house fixture and fittings within 4 hours. The quality of the fixtures were extremely basic and ugly like something from the 80's, you would find better in Kmart. The trick was they give you cheap fixtures and then when you don't like them they refer you to their supplier to give you a bunch of over priced upgrades at your cost. There was no mid range options offered.We sat in a room that was extremely hot with no windows or natural daylight. It was hard to see what you were choosing. This was obviously deliberate just to get the job done as quickly and conveniently for them. I nearly passed out a few times as it was so hot and stressful. I had to go outside to get fresh air. I didn't even get offered a drink and had to go next door to purchase a bottle of water.They then back flipped on the concrete flooring. I had two of their seniors enter the room and was extremely rude and argumentative. I was in tears and traumatised when I left and knew that I could not go forward with them.I lost $3000 deposit but in hindsight it was probably the best money ever spent avoiding this company, especially reading reviews from others.Please avoid these builders. Go elsewhere you won't regret it. The only regret I have is I didn't write this sooner to warn others, I guess that's the good thing about lockdowns. Stay safe everyone even more so by not dealing with this awful company. I hope it was worth the $3000 and wasting our time and this review!

I had my house built with them and at every stage I found faults that they had to fix which they did begrudgingly. It is a shoddy job and I'd never recommend them to anyone, as every year since the build things have fallen off, broken or collapsed.They handed the keys over without having insulated the ceiling.They put the skylight in the bathroom halfway between two rafters so the tube is bent and twisted then only fixed the tubing with tape.The plaster in the entrance was put on using tack nails and plastic tape so from the weight of the plaster has sagged pulled out the nails and fallen.They never vented the extractor fan, only pushing a hole in the plaster ceiling, so it doesn't extract properly, in fact none of the extractor fans are properly vented.They didn't fix the ceiling fan in the bedroom to a beam, just plaster, and to be honest, we are lucky it never fell down and killed us.None of the walls are straight nor doors level.They have run all the lights and sockets off just two fuses.I am forever repairing or getting builders, plumbers or electricians to come and fix their mistakes and they are dumbstruck by how appalling the house is built and wired and I'm the lucky one as I actually demanded to come on site to inspect. My neighbours who just trusted them and didn't come on site until handover have had so many more problems.If you have no choice as you've already signed with them, get an independent building inspector and site manager to ensure everything is done correctly.21/06 UPDATEIn response to Zuccala's comment about not knowing me, I have since purchasing, married and changed my name.

I built with Zuccala 5 years ago and there was issues with everything from the contracts to the build and especially the finishing stage.Still over 4 years later there are issues that have not been fixed. My house was painted in the wrong colour and now half my house is painted one colour and the other half is painted correctly.For so many years it was almost impossible to get any customer service from the maintenance department that it was easier to just give up and learn to live with the issues or pay for them to be fixed out of my own pocket. It took 4 years for them to fix issues that were raised in the 3 month maintenance list with issues just ignored.This was not my first build, but building with Zuccala was the most stressful build I have ever encountered and has put me off ever wanting to go through that again.If you are currently looking for a builder or need a builder to take over from a builder who may have recently gone broke, I would encourage you to think again before choosing this builder.

Big thank you to everybody at Zuccala. Your customer service, flexibility, and professionalism left a profound impression on us. We moved to our house 4 months ago and we love it . Zuccala builds houses to last ; The slab design and the super professional framing would definitely stand out compared to any other builder. We really enjoyed the journey starting with the excellent detailed patient sales process with John , the great prompt follow ups with Mendo, and experienced site supervision by Craig.

I must commend the Zuccala Homes as the company and their staff.We recently had them build my 2 houses in South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.From the start, Joe's professionalism and attentiveness had brought us on to the project with Zuccala Homes. During the construction, Ross's actions and service was an A+++. Customer Service with Mendo was very prompt and helpful.I would recommend Zuccala Homes to anyone for a trouble free construction project and will use them again whenever the business arises.

We absolutely love our custom home and could not be happier with how it turned out. It was a struggle to get there, we started with a volume builder, they proved incompetent so we went to a small builder and same story there. Third deposit was with Zuccala. The design phase took much, much longer than the sales person indicated, but by that point we were so defeated with the build process that we stuck with it and pushed through.Once we finally got out of the paperwork stage things started moving and the experience was much more positive. Our site supervisor is an absolute asset to the company, and if we were building again we would go through the painful admin process again if we were guaranteed to have him on our build.He knew we lived near the build and appreciated our heads up when we saw things that needed to be addressed. We had an independent inspector all throughout the build, and each item was addressed to our satisfaction. When there were issues he would call or meet us and have a discussion so we could figure out the best way forward together. The tiles and fireplace were tricky but he found ways to make them work. We really appreciate that he involved us in the build and didn’t have an ego or attitude about it. We really cannot say enough good things about him.We have been in our home six months and absolutely love how it turned out. We have the custom home we were looking for at a fair and reasonable price, and the company showed much more flexibility than any other we had spoken with. The sales people should really set more appropriate expectations for the timeline, but we weathered through that and got to where we wanted to be in the end. Hats off to our site supervisor, he no doubt needs a pay raise for all of the hours and kms he puts in!

Greg built my home back in November 1996. He did a great job and in terms of quality, proficiency, professionalism and finishing on time I rate him 100%. I have nothing but praise for him and his associates. He's a great guy and good to deal with. We got along well and he made me feel at ease especially being the first house I have built. It was a good relationship all the way through the entire project. Please send my regards to your dad Greg.
