Traffic Force Crew leader and what a trooper!Perth volunteer firefighter deliberately lit fires 'because of bullying'By Emma YoungPerth volunteer jailed for arson, false triple-0 callsThe grandparents of jailed volunteer firefighter Jayden Parker, sentenced for 12 months on Friday for arson offences and false triple-0 calls last year, said his offences followed a period of increasing mental instability after alleged bullying by fellow firefighters. West Australian District Court Judge Michael Bowden issued the sentence over seven counts of creating false belief and two counts of wilfully lighting a bushfire.State prosecutor Joel Grinceri told the court the former bushfire brigade member had made seven false triple-0 calls reporting fires around between September and December 2014 and had then lit two fires in bushland between December 19 and 24. Mr Grinceri said Parker had joined the emergency responses to the two fires he lit, one of which grew to 30 metres by 50 metres, and the other of which was small, about one square metre, and had admitted his guilt immediately when police questioned him on December 27. Parker has been in Hakea Prison ever since. His grandfather Peter Sutton has written to the brigade and the City of Armadale alleging Parker was bullied over several months and was abandoned by his fellow firefighters during the Parkerville bushfires in January 2014 while he helped a resident. He said his grandson was left to walk for a period of time without water or a radio. He felt at any time that he might die because the area was still alight
