Cosy overnight stay. Clean and comfortable, perfect stop for a night on the way through CP

Ali's underground was great. After a long drive it was a welcoming place to set our bags down and put our feet up. The layout as a studio apartment was good. There are 3 beds, 2 queen and a single, 1 queen and the single are dug out of the rock. Sleeping in the dugout beds was really comfortable. Both dugout beds had plenty of power points for all your electronics. The studio has a good kitchen if you want to cook in, which we did. There is basic cooking utensils supplied if you're not carrying your own. The studio was clean and tidy, having never stayed in a dugout I was surprised just how comfortable it was. The temperature outside was around 39C but inside it was low 20s.We were in Coober Pedy to get out and explore the outback and after spending many hours out in the amazing desert areas it was a welcome spot to rest and regroup for our next trips out.Ali had all the usual tourist brochures layed out in the studio with the added bonus of including extra information about less well known areas of the usual tourist trips

Really did enjoy my stay here. I had slept underground at Coober Pedy so I knew it’s assets and limitations. For those a little nervous about being deep in the hillside, Ali’s has a frontage with windows.The temp inside was perfect despite the heat outside. During the night, though, things got close and heavy. But thanks to the fans, the moving air soon had us nodding off again.My one suggestion would be to check on the fridge. It’s seriously loud in the still of night.It’s a great spot to stay. Peaceful and relaxing. Recommended.

It was nice for me for solo traveler

Super cool. Never slept in a room built into a cave before, but I loved it. The room was cozy with plenty of living space. Ali was helpful for any issues we had. This would be a five star review if the wifi had worked at the time. Unfortunately, there's no cell service anywhere except the part that isn't covered by rock at the front.

Cozy, sizable cave appartment with all amenities as washing, cooking and a beautiful bathroom. Had a nice call with Ami who then provided us with things to know and do in coober pedy and surroundings. No reception inside but free WiFi is provided. The appartment was nice and clean and definitely worth the experience of staying underground for the night.
