Came here with 10 others who regularly meet around the Essendon / Moonee Ponds area. If you’re looking for large portion sizes then this is the place to come. Even me, who eats a lot, found the sizes extra generous. Which is great. However, its not cheap with my three lamb cutlets with basic gravy in a pot and chips and a tiny bowl of salad costing $27ish. My friends pork was also large in size but he couldn’t finish it all.The seniors menu is very good and with only 15 months until I qualify, I’ll be trying the smaller portio sizes out. Certainly the option of main, main and entree or main, dessert and entree at a much more reasonable price I’d enticing.Staff were nice and quick to remove our plates once we’d finished. There are pokies and all that gambling side of things here as well.Notes: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly, kid friendly, reasonable parking.

Worst meal at WHV ever roast pork dry and vegetables under cooked. That's all vegetables, pumpkin, Brussel Sprouts carrots etc all under cooked

I used to really like coming here to play pokies for some headspace time out. Its become so clicky for big bet gamblers that not only win big but lose big..house always wins. Big betters reserving machines like they own them ( even during daytime) whilst playing another for an opportunity. The chairs at the gaming machines are so damm uncomfortable that my visits are now so infrequent but short. Feels like your about to slip off given a cough or laugh. If you took gaming pyschology into behaviour then upgrade your chairs. Its actually doing me a favour that your seating is not comfortable! Ive now gone elswhere to a venue that not only do I seat comfortably but obviously many others do to because I get a run for my money. Afterall the $ thats poured into these types of places you could give us a comfy seat. Staff I give 5 stars as they are always warm and welcoming but considering I'm paying their wages I wouldnt expect much less.Time to upgrade WH.I used to like Monday parma and pot (or wine cos I dont do beer) but that has gone too since prior Covid.Just some wholesome feedback from a local!

The Essenedon Superules Football Club just had an AFL Draft Night in The Premier Function Room. The room was elegant and the tables were beautifully decorated in red and black. The fully serviced bar and food were excellent and the staff provided fantastic service. The views of the city skyline over the famous oval were stunning. We all had a great night that was made even more enjoyable by the friendly service provided and having the great Kevin Sheedy as our host. Cannot wait to do it again next year! Thank you to Jill and Alan for helping to make our function a success.

Ground is in magnificent condition and it still has that suburban ground charm - maybe the last one ...

Had a great meal with friends, all had seniors meals which had reduced prices but not the size or quality. A really enjoyable atmosphere and mid afternoon complimentary tea and scones capped off a enjoyable day. The staff were welcoming and friendly, We will return for sure and highly recommend

I attended the venue as a visitor for the first time in many yrs. From the word go The girls made me feel very welcome. Mainly Pat and Laura. Their 3 course Seniors has many choices. All courses were delivered hot. Staff provided very quick and professional service Place is very clean. Bathrooms are spotless. PT from Essendon Station is available. Highly recommended. Worth a 1,000 stars.

Had a great meal there at reasonable prices. Check out the great Seniors meals on Sunday at only $12.00. Visit Windy Hill Bistro next time you want to have a cheap meal. The Lamb Shanks was delicious.
