Great country pub, great meals and beer on tap. Multiple accomodation options including motel rooms and new self contained ensuite cabins.Friendly staff and free pool.

Loved every minute I was there...walk around town, pub gas fabulous coffee and great meals, motel rooms very clean and comfortable. Was exposed to the very best of country hospitality

Amazing place. Big, clean rooms with bread, milk, cereals and condiments provided. Laura makes the most amazing meals and they are huge! The roads were closed due to the flooding and Ian kept us up to date with the road conditions and let us stay an extra night when we couldn't get out. Lily was so lovely and even helped us out by letting our daughter follow her around and showed her the workings of the hotel. Amazing people, we were a little sad to leave!

On a motorcycle trip and the roads I had to travel on where too wet and unsealed so managed to grab the last room at the motel to dry off. Amazing place, staff where amazing, bar is awesome and the food is great. And on top of that they went above and beyond at helping me. Really amazing people. Couldn't have picked a better spot to stay if I tried!

Friendly, welcoming staff. The publican made us feel right at home while we waited for the road conditions to improve to get to Birdsville. Excellent chicken schnitty as well.

Western Star Hotel Motel
Stopped overnight at the Western Star on our way out of Birdsville. We dealt with the lovely Lilly who managed to get us a cabin. The cabin was immaculate and so welcome after crossing the Simpson Desert. We enjoyed a lovely meal. Our group had steak, a mixed grill and the homemade rissoles were amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough. Lovely staff and great atmosphere.

Great place, Ian has helped us out with accommodation at short notice a few times when our booking company stuffed up. Dinner at the pub is fantastic, had about 10 meals there now and every one was delicious. If you go in summer you will get carried away by the flys so be prepared for that, not the pubs fault just the area in general :)
