Just finished a great week for two couples on Gypsy Rose 2. QYC were very good to deal with from booking through briefing to daily checks and return. As novices we mastered most of the boat and used the sail. A fantastic adventure which we would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the Whitsundays outside of the full catered and crewed offers. A beautiful place for visiting, swimming, snorkelling and just relaxing.Gypsy Rose 2 is great for 2 couples, ample room and good facilities. Highly recommend QYC to anyone wanting a Whitsundays bare boat experience.

An absolutely fantastic week at the end of Sept/beg of October for my wife and I on board Shearwater, a Seawind 1000 XL, on our 45th wedding anniversary trip to Australia. Our first time in the Whitsundays and alone on a catamaran. The boat is perfect for a couple, with plenty of room and very easy to sail. We had no technical issues whatsoever with the boat. I just wish it had a bigger headsail :-)We sailed in the French Polynesia a few weeks prior to arriving in Australia and the difference between the charter outfit there and QYC is significant. QYC is very professional and extremely well organized. We received a lot of preparatory material in the months before our booking. When we arrived in the beautiful and friendly Airlie Marina, QYC answered all our questions and allowed us to stock the boat the night before our departure. The in depth briefing by Adrian in the morning was much appreciated and the daily radio contact made it so comfortable. The Whitsundays are incredibly beautiful. Lots of good sailing, places to visit and explore. We will be back!

We had the pleasure of spending 4 luxurious nights onboard Pluton Power Yacht with our 2 small children under 4. Right from the the get go communication was exceptional. The yacht was beautifully presented and outlined perfectly. Thorough and detailed briefing with great advise for the venture. During our stay we experienced onboard communication which made us feel valued. We loved the Whitsundays and feel the urge to return to see more.Loved fishing, loved swimming and the paddle board was a wonderful added extra. Amara and Christoph were warm and welcoming it was a dream to experience this and highly recommend it as a family must do in QLD.Thank you so much Kirianna

Unprofessional Operation – Plenty of AlternativesA group of six of us chartered a five cabin Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 for seven days in January 2023 and encountered many boat problems along with unprofessional & hostile charter management.1. Lost a day because the generator was faulty. Partly because of this, the boat briefing was spasmodic and disjointed (briefer claimed first time to brief on this boat) as he was also dealing with the tender’s fuel tank not being full, replacing the missing ice chest, filling the boats water tank and agreeing the BBQ was unclean but didn’t have the time to address it.2. Rain leak in starboard saloon and the boat was delivered with tarpaulin that had to be rearranged to slow the leaks. (Cushions sodden wet, had to be stripped and dried over following 2 days)3. Dead and live cockroaches in cabins, saloon, and cockpit (6 instances)4. Main outhaul was chaffed, unsafe to the extent we stopped using the sail.5. Forward port cabin hatch also taped up to prevent rain from entering.6. Shore power leads (all three connectors) were full of water and tripped the dock relay. We had to disassemble, dried and taped with plastic. (QYC accuses we dropped in the water, we did not)7. 2 x AC’s not working (stern port cabin front saloon unit) and both fail to cool air. There were several other more debatable issues but given Dream Yacht Charter’s blameless responses and complete unwillingness to take any responsibility we let these issues speak for themselves. We were offered a refund for 1 ½ days rental, which we declined in preference for sharing our experience in the hope others reconsider using such a shoddy operator as Dream Yacht Charter their other brand, QYC (Queensland Yacht Charters)

It’s taken some time to get around to a review, none the less we had a wonderful bare boat charter with these guys on Top spot, we had arranged for alcohol to be delivered & was no trouble for QYC to store for us until we arrived. The safety induction was comprehensive as well as our sailing instruction that lasted several hours before we departed for Nara Inlet. Amazing sunsets and beautiful scenery with magnificent water views every day. We looked forward to the radio banter morning & afternoon, which for our 1st bareboat charter was reassuring that there was plenty of assistance should we have needed it. When listening on radio it seemed a lot of other companies were having boat issues but not so with QYC, couldn’t recommend them enough.Great holiday!!

We've just completed 14 nights non stop sailing around the Whitsundays on Rakusu, a Seawind 1260. Yes it is possible to do so without stopping at Hammo for water! Six passengers (4 adults, 2 teenage boys) enjoyed this wonderful trip. The QYC Team were fantastic. Our check-in and onboarding was professional and thorough. The Catamaran was clean and comfortable and all sail controls, cooking, electrical and plumbing worked as expected. Rakusu is a wonderful catamaran to sail and we enjoyed mixing several long passages with shorter hops. A big thank you for the Marina, Operations and Handover personnel looking after us. We'll be back and have no hesitation in recommending QYC to others.

As a family of first time 'sailors' we had a great time. Six days on the water in a catamaran (Tropical Sunset) was fantastic. Really benefited from the extra tuition on day one (thank you Robert!) which gave us confidence for the rest of the trip. Easy navigation through beautiful Whitsunday islands. The Catamaran had plenty of room for the 4 of us and was in really good condition. Had a lot of fun. Recommend kayaks for paddling around the various bays. From start to finish everything was true to label with no hidden costs or complications, and friendly staff on call in the office. Would definitely recommend.

We (a party of 6) spent 5 nights on board Tropical Sunset in early March. We had an incredible holiday and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about taking a trip. The entire holiday was pretty cheap for what we experienced. Including return flights from Sydney, the charter itself and all food and drink we spent about $1000 per person, that would barely cover a hotel in the Whitsundays for 3 days!We had very little experience with boats and had no idea how to sail. Our half day sail guide Ben was excellent, he put us at complete ease with every part of the boat and all aspects of maneuvers. The vessel itself was in great condition and very clean. We spent the few days fishing, sun bathing, diving (gear rented at Abel Point Marina) snorkeling and relaxing. I'd highly recommend sleeping out on the nets if the cabin becomes too warm for you (very comfortable). We ran into no issues whatsoever in terms of anchoring or mooring. We'll definitely be back in the near future! Many Thanks to all the staff at QYC for their help throughout our trip.

We have just enjoyed a 7 night Whitsunday cruise on 'Dreamtime Princess' through QYC - a fabulous experience. The company is professional, efficient, informative and great fun to deal with. The vessel was comfortable and in excellent working order. The whole experience was great. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend QYC or charter through them again.

One of the best holidays I've had so far -- made all the better for the fact that Queensland Yacht Charters were incredibly easy deal with, accommodating, and clearly cared to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our Whitsundays holiday. The sailboat itself was great, too! Will definitely be coming back! Thanks QYC!
