My advice to anyone dealing with these thieves is to claim your bond online as soon as your tenancy agreement has ended and you've handed the keys back. That way, they'll need to pay $52 to take you to tribunal to try and claim your bond.CJ Real Estate are the most unprofessional, unethical and rude agents I have ever dealt with, especially the property manager Evelyn. Ignores maintenance requests for years and tries to claim your bond on these issues when you vacate. Evelyn even tried to blame us for a blocked drain on the balcony and refused to send out a plumber until we involved Fair Trading. The plumber confirmed it wasn't caused by us so she couldn't claim our bond. She then tried to blame us for a faulty power point and several other issues which we reported 3 years ago. Luckily we always keep records of our communications and was easy to prove this. I honestly don't know how these people are legally operating in Australia, when they clearly don't know the local laws and legislations. Even Fair Trading was surprised when I told them that they refused to send a plumber to fix the blocked balcony drain.I managed to get my full bond back but I feel sorry for everyone else these dodgy agents have taken advantage of. The amount of bad reviews they have online is evident of how dodgy they are. I'll be lodging official complaints with ACCC and Fair Trading and I encourage others to do the same.

An extremely unhappy experience with this agency. When something under warranty in the rent property went wrong, they directly sent tradie for inspection and charged us a couple of hundreds even it was not caused by us, and refused to communicate by neglecting our phone calls and emails until we filed the issue to Tribunal after struggling for one month for their reply. Dramatically, the issue was told to be under warranty and no necessity for any charge immediately after Tribunal has sent the hearing. Unbelievable. Just be cautious when making the decision if you wanna work with this agency and grab annoying residence experience.In addition, though I'm not sure if all these happened due to the agency or landlord, I would suggest everyone to avoid this agency and involving in their poor communication with their landlords as you can find in many of the reviews.

I have rented with CJ for the last 3 years. I would try to avoid them where possible.I have found the communication with them quite poor especially when it comes to replying emails or returning phone calls. I had to do a lot of follow up to get things done (e.g. extra key, repairs, key returns). In general, it takes a long time for them to action when the tenant request something. I understand they might have to seek landlord approval, but I would appreciate some sort of acknowledgement during the wait or upon receiving the tenant request.The vacant process did get quite difficult when they don't reply promptly. Especially when I call the office and they say someone will get back or reply to my email, which I ended up had to make several phone calls to chase up.After the end of lease inspection done by the Agent, they tried to put the existing issues on us despite these were reported in our initial inspection report (e.g. dirt/marks on the wall, chipped wood board in the cupboard). This can put tenants at additional stress if the Agents had actually cross-checked the report.The worst part is, we put the bank details on the vacate form for bond release as requested by the Agent, but the bond goes into a different account of mine from 3 years ago. Which means they don't even look through or check the details for correct bond release. This is scary and very unprofessional.Overall, if you want to rent with them. It might seems fine at the beginning as you are giving them a deal. But expect trouble/poor communication when you make a request, and probably troubles based on how they work.

We have leased with CJ for the last two years, great agents, reasonable rents, and full bond returned.

Even 1 star is too many for them. I made wrong payment into the previous rent account and I asked refund but they refused because my partner's renting in other area has arrears but the payment's crn is completely different, partner's rent is not on my name and I don't even know the address. Untrustworthy!
