Yongala Recreation Reserve

This place is a gem. Cleanest toilets in Australia (Let's keep them that way guys,) So flat with so much room. Lush grass & A view of surrounding hills.

Fantastic quiet location with spotless toilets. What a great facility provided by the Yongala community !

This is a great free camp with plenty of space. Toilets are clean and the camping area was mowed. There are no shops in town so bring what you need.

The Yongala Recreation Reserve is a peaceful free camp. Yongala has a total of about 91 residents yet they have hosted large free campground for travellers for 72hrs. The town is quite small however very rich in history. The free camp is situated on a semi grassy area. It has a free water tap to fill up on. A toilet block next to this small office recreational area of the town. These area are enclosed in a wire fence. There are several bins placed outside the fence together with a container wired bin. A sign ha been place on the gate, advising users to close the fate as animals who wander might come in. The camp ground looks like to an old oval used before. The office/recreational area is locked. And right in front of it is the water tap. You will need a long water hose which unfortunately we didn't have, will have to buy another one for one of these I should have moments. The toilet block is new, it's clean as can be and has water. There is a make, female and disabled toilet. Unfortunately, there is no toilet paper available, however be conscientious enough to bring your own specially in small towns like this. There are a few spider residents however other than that the toilet facilities are great. Not a lot of free camps offer toilets with water. On front of the office/ recreational area is an old tennis court. Next to it to the right is a small playground with a handful of play equipment. The camp also is a host for flies , they can be annoying in yet to manageable. You can practice you fly ninja reflexes and see how many you can kill in one slap.
