Dan's Hair Cuts

He's a barber for 70 years. Good conversations too.

Seriously good cut. The man has been in the trade for decades and comes from a lineage of haircutters, no joke!

I'm not one to leave reviews but this experience really stood out. Dan is an older Italian man who's mastered his craft and runs an old barbershop at the back of his house (an actual hairdressing studio). His hours have changed slightly and now is open from 8am-3pm Wednesday to Friday and charges between $20-25 depending on the haircut. As someone who is quite fussy about haircuts (and cannot trust anyone besides my barber of 5 whom now lives out of town), Dan really is your guy. Great haircut, great atmosphere and great chat with an authentic Italian experience that is highly recommended.

Long established home-based hairdresser. Good quality and price

I drove past Dan's by chance a couple of months ago, noting the sign out front and sensing that it would be the right place to find a good haircut -- arguably something of a rarity these days. Having read the other reviews that only confirmed my feelings, I finally checked it out for myself the other day, and I have not stopped raving about the experience since.Dan is a true master of his craft -- a second-generation barber/hairdresser and absolute gentleman. Stepping into his salon is like stepping into a romanticised vision of an old-fashioned barbershop, except it's all real -- down to the hairstyling catalogues, beehive dryers, and the 95-year-old barber's chair that was originally his father's.All Dan needs is a quick reference and he is off -- sharing the most wonderful stories as he works away skilfully at your hair. A single appointment is simply not enough to hear his wealth of knowledge and fascinating stories. Equally as skilled working with both Men's and Women's hair, and a perm expert to boot, Dan is truly a rare gem -- never have I been so eager for my hair to grow back!

A couple of years back I lost my hairdresser of 15 years or so and have been looking for someone as good. Tried some local barbers who asked me for direction as to how I wanted my haircut. Useless and very expensive! Then I found Dan, delightful man, knows his craft, and is very reasonably priced. His “shop” is something else too. Talked my other half into trying him and she was very pleased with her cut, and the price she paid. Highly recommended.

Had driven past this place for many years. Finally checked it out and had a great hair cut. Groovy, interesting place too.
