Don't believe the reviews. Been here a few times, ambience and charm is great but the food is seriously whatever. Wouldn't be too bothered by the mediocre food if it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Even in Melbourne you don't pay that much for a parma

We have had lunch here twice when visiting Trentham and had beautiful, yummy meals with friendly service. Both times, they were very busy, but we didn't wait long for our food. Beautiful atmosphere, too.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel, Trentham
Food was innovative, fusion style, modern presentation. Everything was fresh and tasty. The galactobureko dessert was an individual serving and delicious. Fireplaces were warm and welcoming on a cold winter's day. The waiting staff were a bit young and inexperienced but friendly.

Outdated, bland, Menu. Very ordinary pizzas. Several dishes arrived cold. Some of the drinks on tap, were flat. Great building & atmosphere.But 4+ fireplaces & not one had a fire!

Great country pub with plenty of character ... Good for a sunday country drive + stopover for lunch/drinks.Be sure to book, as it was busy on sunday for lunch.Sadly, we didnt book - so ended up down the bottom, old cellar area with several steps - not good for seniors or people with walking sticks.This area was more secluded - so easier to talk, but downside it was soo much colder than main bar area.The thai red curry was so delicious + paired with the local pale ale.

Lovely setting in and out. Great atmosphere, decorated beautifully inside and lovely gardens to wander in outside. Only downside was the price of the meals. We ordered one pizza between the two of us $30, told big enough to share and would expect so for the price but only 8 small pieces so had to go elsewhere afterwards and buy more food.

We had an amazing experience here on Saturday. The service from Laura was impeccable. The food was a very high consistent standard for all 14 guests. The atmosphere was was lovely. We can’t thank Fiona and her staff enough. Best pub in the region hands down

Everything eas great. Warm inside by the fire, beautiful food, excellent local wine list and very friendly staff. Have driven past this pub many times and this is the first time we stopped in. But will be back regularly from now onIt’s worth the lovely drive from Melbourne. Tip if you’re coming from Melbourne, avoid the Calder, take the western freeway and up through Greendale and Blackwood, it’s a much nicer drive

Great country pub with a nice big indoor space with multiple areas to sit for lunch. Busy weekends so book ahead. Nice selection and variety of food proudly using lots of local ingredients and lovely friendly service from the staff.
