Yesterday was my first time visiting the Silt Jetty along Rivermouth Road, Eagle Point. I was in absolute awe when we arrived. It's like being on a small island surrounded by rocks, crashing waves and beachy foreshore. It's a perfect spot for fishing, going for a drive or simply relaxing and taking in the stunning view of Paynesville, the lakes and the Mitchell River. Be prepared to pull over to the side to allow cars to pass as the road itself is fairly narrow.

This is a great place to visit, if staying in Bairnsdale, or enroute to lakes entrance etc. Located approximately 20 km from Bairnsdale, there's about 7 km of narrow, rough, dusty, dirt road to cover, to get to the jetty. But the views are just amazing along the dirt track -- on one side you have the sea and on the other side runs the Mitchell river. Along this track, there are also plenty of spots for some Bream fishing. It's certainly a fun trip that comes with some dusty & bumpy ride.
