Went in for a roadworthy, I was promptly served which was great. Quoted what I thought to be an inflated price, deciding to take my car elsewhere, was charged the full roadworthy amount without the roadworthy. At my regular mechanic the full roadworthy works came in at well under half the quote from Bertil Motors. It was frustrating to be charged the full amount for not getting a roadworthy, when a smaller charge for time spent checking the car would have been fair.

I'm very disappointed with their ill-manner, bad service & refusal to quote upfront.Bertil Motors is only interested in simple jobs and dealing with expensive cars and owners with big wallets!I asked to be contacted with time and cost estimate of a job but never heard back.After calling and questioning why they had not contacted me, the co-owner informed me that they had been too busy. He was impatient and extremely rude threatening to 'push the car out on the pavement' if we weren't happy with his service. I was shocked that he had such a sense of entitlement and was willing to treat a fellow member of the Hawthorn community with such utter disrespect. And this was only after questioning how long it would take for the car to be fixed when he had initially quoted 'a couple of days'.When they eventually fixed the car - approx 3 weeks later! - the car ended up experiencing similar problems shortly afterwards as they put in reconditioned parts. I have decided to take it else where. I wouldn’t bother with these guys. Completely unprofessional & lacking in customer service skills. Btw- no price estimate was given upfront. Rip off!

I have been going to Bertil Motors off and on for over 10 years. I used to deal with Josh and now Michael and have always found them friendly and helpful. They have performed regular service on my Subaru Outback and Golf as well as making significant repairs such as replacing the timing chain. Their quotes are extremely competitive and significantly less than the quotes provided by service departments at the dealerships. If I have minor problems such as faulty break light, leaking oil, etc. they are always obliging and will try and fit me in during their busy schedule. Finally they provide expert advice regarding mechanical faults and have kept my aging cars on the road free of any problems. Great work by Michael and his team.

They get paid for work they didn't do. They don't know about vw vehicles. I left my car for roof leaks and ventilation problems. They asked money for both problems and could not find the problem. Simple operation fees such as oil change are very close to the authorized dealer. Even for a job that will be finished in a short time, you have to leave your car all day, they do not call back when the process is finished. I do not recommend you to go to Bertil Motors.

My partner took our vehicle in on the promise they would address the issues raised. Quite frankly this is a poor excuse for a service centre. Do not take your VW CAR to this place. Oh and most half decent service centres would at least give the inside of the car a vacuum. We will never go back there.

Absolutely Brilliant service! We take our Audi and our jeep here and have always been extremely happy with the work done, The acting manager Tim and all the other staff have always gone the extra mile to help get things done right, at a reasonable cost. Would recommend to anyone needing friendly competent service for any make of car.

This place is expensive. I went here for the roadworthy certificate of my mercedes SLK 2011. Got quoted $2700 for 2 breaks and 2 tires. I went to other mechanics and got all sorted out for $1500 which includes $900 for breaks (rembo one) and $600 for 2 continental tires.Other than the price, everything else seems good. I won't come back so I didn't have much experience with them.

These guys have been looking after my dad & my cars for the last 20+ years. Never. Ever. Had any issues at all. They know their stuff & they tell you the options in straight talk. Don't be afraid to ask questions either, they will talk you through the issue so you understand. And they will go out of their way to help without charging you or making a big deal out of it. Just all round decent, honest, helpful, professional people.

70k service on my European vehicle Very impressed with Michael and his team . Previous service to this used the brands service and had brakes done by my brands dealer, I had to take the car back but Bertil Motors got it right the first time!

These guys are the best shop around! Could not ask for a better local mechanic. Gets work done quickly and at a great price every time. Super happy with the service, always spoken to with a smile.
