No words to describe how good this place and chef Victor are! How Ormeggio is not considered the best restaurant in Australia is beyond me. A must visit and will be back!

Ormeggio at The Spit
We spent the 1st day of holiday enjoying the most beautiful view and fabulous food in Ormeggio at The Spit yesterday.After some struggles (everything looks so good!), we decided to go freestyle and save the set menu for another time. All the dishes were delicious and perfectly seasoned! My favourite was the octopus which was so juicy and tender. That hint of smoked flavour elevates it even more. I particularly appreciate it came to the table with a little stove with charcoal hitting up the flatbread. The scallop, scampi and the housemade crab pasta were very good too!l However, nothing can beat their famous lime sorbet with Italian meringue. That dish is soo refreshing and delicious and I miss that badly already! The portion was huge but I think it was food considering we didn’t order too many savoury dishes. It was a perfect way to end the lunch on a hot summer day!The service was very friendly and attentive. I even received a warm message (an hr prior my booking time) indicating the traffic was heavy and care was needed when travelling. Overall, I think it definitely worths the price tag considering the high standard of food, customer service and the view. I cannot wait to go back!

This restaurant continues to serve delicious food, in an environment that is very conducive to quality conversation.We dined at night, so the views are hard to appreciate, but are stunning in the day.The tasting menu was generous and each dish was top quality.This restaurant is a must for those that enjoy quality seafood.

Lovely sunset dinner. The food was perfect, the service attentive. We shared some small plates and a main with sides. We had super fresh oysters, the tartlets, the octopus was so so tasty, kingfish cooked perfectly, beautiful potatoes and leaves on the side. Save some room for the lemon gelato with lemon meringue - featuring lemons all the way from Capri no less! So lovely, beautiful casual elegant dining.

What a lovely experience! Came here for our Anniversary, we were welcomed so nicely and sat at a table right by the water. The staff were so professional and so relaxed all at the same time, made us feel so comfortable. The food was amazing, if only I had a bigger stomach I wouldn’t have been able to stop. Everything was done with such class and the venue its self has such a a great feel. Couldn’t speak highly enough. Thanks for a great experience. Will be back for sure!

A truly great restaurant needs to have a combination of wonderful location, great ambience, exceptional staff and world-class food. Ormgeggio uniquely has it all! Overlooking the water, you feel a sense of well-being as you enter the restaurant and are welcomed by Jan, and Rose. Somehow, each of the staff has a gift of making guests feel that they are special and all are knowledgeable and proud of the unique menu produced by the Italian chef. After having eaten in the best international restaurants, I would rate Ormeggio right at the top. Each of the dishes on the signature menu was beautifully presented and provided outstanding and subtle taste sensations. Any visitors to Sydney should make this a priority stop. I would recommend a visit for any special occasion. The memories of the dining experience at Ormeggio will linger long after you return home.

Amazing food, great service.Risotto cooked to perfection. Never had sword fish cooked like this, crispy and flavoursome.And surprisingly the side roast potatoes was amazing. It's was so crispy on the outside and buttery fluffy on the inside.Water front view, perfect for a weekend lunch

What a wonderful experience. We ordered the Chef Signature Menu at 200pp. Every dish was outstanding and we were definitely not hungry by the end of it! The oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. The lobster was the best lobster I have had. It had a certain smokey flavour to it that made the lobster flavour stand out in a way Ive never experienced. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. Parking was easy. The wine choice was perfect. Yes it is pricey, but the ingredients are premium and experience are premium. Perfect way to celebrate a special event.
