CAIRNS ICE SKATING RINK

Smallish sized ice rink in the DFO shopping centre.Best time to come is on the morning weekend sessions when the ice has just been cleaned and there is barely anyone else on. Judy the manager is very lovely and accommodating letting me know beforehand.Experienced figure ice skater here, and this is a kids and family friendly venue. So the ice quality isn't going to match what you find in the bigger cities. However, I still enjoyed my practice time with plenty of space.But I recommend there needs to be signs to enforce skating in one direction for the safety all skaters; especially during the busier times.

This was an amazing experience for our group of young adults with a disability. The staff went over and above to accommodate our group. Thank you so much.I would highly recommend this as a new experience for any ability wanting to try ice skating.

We are here on holidays and today the kids tried their first ice scating attempt. The lovely lady behind the counter helped and encouraged them and was so helpful. They then did the tobogganing which they loved. I highly recommend this activity, it was loads of fun.

We visited Cairns Ice Skating Rink today while visiting the area from Brisbane. Now we have another ice skating rink 10 minutes from our house in Brisbane and the owner of the rink went above and beyond what we have ever experienced at a rink. Our eldest child has ASD and had difficulty finding skates to suit her, the owner came and tried multiple pairs on to help her find a pair that she found comfortable. She happily helped everyone to get comfortable and feel safe while skating. Very reasonably priced and appropriate timeframes for sessions. Not to busy either. Great activity to do while visiting the area if looking for an inside activity (especially in the heat!)Initially we chose to hire two seals for our kids, but they were having so much fun that we had to hire others as well!

Highly recommended Cairns Ice Skating for a fun time out as a family. The lady behind the counter went out of her way to support our son to get out on the ice for the first time! Thanks for a good time.

I visited here while on vacation from Sydney. It's a nice little rink and a good activity for the kids while you're shopping in the centre. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. There are quite a few sessions throughout the day as well (I went on a Saturday).I've personally given this a 4/5 only because I'm an experienced skater, so my standard for ice quality is high and I wasn't wearing my own custom skates. But appealing to the general public, this place is definitely something worth considering, to keep the kids occupied, or to have a cool break from the amazing sunny weather that Cairns has to offer.

Heaps of fun and the staff are just wonderful! A good excuse to get away from the Cairns heat and will definitely be coming back!!!

Great place to take the kid's no matter how big or small they are. Fun for the whole family. They have skate aides for the little one's and beginners. The manager Judy is very friendly and helpful. My daughter enjoys it so much she now has her own ice skate's and we are regularly there. Great place to be on a hot cairns day too. Highly recommended activity for anyone.
