Very friendly staff, yummy authentic food. Best Mongolian beef we’ve ever tried! Kids loved the honey chicken and the pan fried pork & chive dumplings were divine. We’ll be back asap!

I went there with my Aussie friends. The food is awesome and the wagyu beef with chef’s secrets sauce is a spot on. My friends loved the food and dine in experience. Here is a must try!

Pleasantly surprised by the depth of the flavours. Even the pan fried dumplings tasted better than the usual from other restaurants. The dan dan noodles is a must! And a very nice touch of the waiter to offer warm tap water on a cold rainy day.

Kai Fan Chinese Restaurant
Excellent hidden gem in Newcastle. Many Chinese restaurants in the area but kaifan is definitely the most authentic and even in Chinese standards. The owner is also very nice and friendly. Will be back next time I come back to Newcastle for my next trip. Highly recommended for authentic Chinese food.

We enjoyed a delicious Chinese dinner with a good South Australian red wine. The owner / manager was a friendly host and made us feel welcomed when we arrived. There is a good selection of meals to choose from and ours was really nice. The red wine was quality. We liked the interior design, and the quiet atmosphere was relaxing and allowed us to enjoy a conversation. We dined inside, however there is outdoor seating. Our meals were served quickly and were hot and tasty.

The staff here were so friendly and helpful!The restaurant itself is very clean and has some beautiful décor :)The food was absolutely amazing, I ordered the chicken fried hofun and deep friend sticky rice cakes:) All of which were a fair price, especially for the quantity of food you are served.I definitely recommend those dishes and this restaurant!

The BEST Chinese in the town! Definitely!Love this one!Went there after 2 they are about to close the lunch order, but still take us in, thanks for that.Quickly ordered the food, came up very fast.The flavour is authentic and portion is generous.Kids love the pork.Good for Campanella friends.

We had a disappointing experience here on a Saturday night.The service was terrible. It was clear the waiter was new to the job and lacking in any training and knowledge. It was a struggle to explain our basic order.The food was a long time coming and poorly timed. We ordered two dumpling dishes, two mains and rice. The food came out in drips and drabs in no particular order. We basically finished our meal and still no second order of dumplings so we cancelled that item. The food itself was very nice, except the rice under cooked.We had been here once before (a year ago) and had a much better evening. Hopefully our experience was just an anomaly, but we won't be going back anytime soon.

My partner and I visited Kai Fan tonight to get dinner before driving back to Sydney. The food was excellent with good serving sizes and wonderful flavours and the staff made sure to stagger service so we could take the time to enjoy the meal without being overloaded.While we had no issues with our order it seems that the table across from us were not aware of how the food they ordered would be served and the waiter was very gracious in extending every effort to find a way to serve them something appropriateWe look forward to visiting again
